I threw myself onto the freshly made hotel bed, tossing my bags onto the floor. "Traveling makes me exhausted," Meredith said, plopping down on the bed next to me. "So you're gonna make me share a bed with her?" Sydney said, standing in the doorway with her arms folded. Us three ended up being put in a room with Melissa, and apparently it seemed as if me and Meredith had already claimed a bed together, since there were only two in each suite. Melissa was an interesting character, to say the least. She was nice.. sometimes. She didn't have many friends on the team, but she had this idea that everyone loved her and that everything revolved around her as well. I'll just put it this way: we weren't her biggest fans.
"I call the side closest to the window!"
We looked up to find Melissa standing by the bed, a huge grin spread across her face. "I'm so excited to be sharing a room with you girls!" she squealed. "Awesome!" Meredith squealed back, mocking her. I nudged her with my elbow, trying not to laugh. After Melissa told us she was going to "freshen up" for the team dinner in the hotel's restaraunt, I decided to grab a drink from the vending machine down the hall. I grabbed one of the room key's off the desk and my wallet from my purse. I changed into some yoga pants and a tank top and headed down the hall. After putting $1.25 into the machine, I pushed the button for a bottle of gatorade.. but nothing came out. I punched the button a couple more times, but still nothing. "Are you kidding me.." I muttered under my breath. I was exhausted and all I wanted was a drink. I gave the machine a good kick, but nothing changed. I grabbed both sides of it and started to shake it.. I was determined. "Need some help there?"
I whipped around to see the boy from the airport standing there, grinning. Well shit, that's embarrassing. "I'm, uhm, just really thirsty," I said, running my fingers through my hair. For some reason, the kid made me nervous, even though I didn't know him. "Here," he said, pushing past me toward the machine. He bumped the side of it twice with his fist, and out came my stupid bottle of gatorade. "What? How did you do that?" I asked in disbelief. "The same thing happened to me earlier," he said, still smiling. "Well.. thanks." I could feel my cheeks turning red as he handed me my drink. "Lex, right?" he asked. Wow, I was surprised he remembered my name. "Yeah, right. And you're Austin?" I asked. He nodded. "I'm sure I'll see you around," he said before getting a drink for himself and walking back down the hall. I let out a deep breath, after realizing I hadn't been breathing for the past minute. No, Lex. Do not let this kid get to you. He's just some kid who got famous from the internet that thinks he's hot shit and can get whoever he wants. To him, I was probably just another fan girl.. and that was all I thought I'd ever be.
