3) Oh boys!
“Uh, I’m so bored.” I said.We were driving to Karen’s house in Portland, and I was tired of it. “Why can’t we listen to my Cd's?”
I was complaining in hopes that they would change their minds and take me with them. Which, of course they couldn’t. It being their second honeymoon and all, but still. I mean I could have stayed with Tyler. Plus, it would be far cheaper for my parents. But no, we had to go to Portland, it is freezing there. And when you live in L.A. you notice things like that.
We had just got to her house. It was huge. I wondered why because it was only her and her husband, Bryon. But I guess that’s what rich people do. I walked in to a small entry with a door and stairs on the left and a pool room, with some awesome cues, on my right. There was a wood floor too. In front of me was a living room with a giant flat screen and two big couches.
Man, I thought, these people really know how to live.
“Lynna!” a woman my mom’s age yelled atthe top of the stairs, then come running down to meet us. “It’s been ages!”
She hugged mom and turned to me. “And you must be Samantha,” she said to me, smiling. “It’s so great to finally meet you.”
“Sam,” I corrected. “It’s just Sam.”
“Of course dear. Well let’s get you settled. Boys! Come here!” She yelled into the house.
Holy crap, I thought, she has boys.
Immediately I heard thudding feet and the door to my right opened up with a boy about my age coming out. He had sandy blond hair and green eyes just like his mom. He was buff too.
“Come on sit down and I’ll introduce you to the tribe.”
She has boys, and she has a buch of them.
So I sat. And, man was that couch comfy! The boys lined up in front of me like I guessed they’d done a million times before.
“In order there is Chance-20, Jordan-18, Tyson-17, Jace-16, Zach and John, the twins,-14 and this is little Eric.” Karen said showing me the little boy standing behind her legs. “He is six.”
First was Chance. He was the one that I saw come out of the bedroom. He was tall about six foot. He had sandy blond hair that was in his perfect green eyes making him look younger. I assumed he had a girlfriend. And again I must note that, he was pretty buff.
Next was Jordan. He had black hair, that was sticking up slightly. It was odd because the rest of them had a variation of brown or blond hair. It must be dyed, I thought. He had green eyes too. Come to think of it they all had green eyes. He looked close to six foot, like Chance.
“Wait,” I said, with realization. “You started at Ocean View High today, didn’t you?”
“Ya,” he replied, unsure. “Why?”
“My friend Tyler saw you and is head over heels. Don’t tell her I said that, okay? And try to acknowledge her.”
“Alright.” He said chuckling.
After J there was Tyson. He was by far the hottest one there. He had dark brown slightly curled almost reached his gorgeous green eyes. He had sort of thick eyelashes, but it suited him. He was slightly taller than J so I was super short compared to him. I would have reached just above his abs. God, could he get and hotter?
Jace was next. He had flat brown hair, glasses and was tall and lanky. He didn't quite fit in, but did at the same time. His eyes were more of a pale green compared to the other boys'. He would be the kind of guy to always be there for you. I liked him already.
After Jace there were the twins, Zach and John. They had hair that wasn’t exactly brown or dirty blond either. It was short too. Not like their brothers’. It was different, almost secretive. I figured it fit their personality. They were looking at me like I was a new toy so I made a mental note to steer clear of them. They were about my height so I felt even shorter. If that was even possible.
And lastly there was Eric. What I had seen of him before he ran off to his room was cute. He was about four foot with sandy blond hair and sparkling green eyes. But that may have been because he was about to cry. His hair was slightly curled, like Tyson’s.
“Well now that you’ve met us all Ty can take your stuff up to your room and help you get settled.” Karen announced taking my parents to the kitchen. I’m sure I could have done it myself, but Ty took my two suitcases and headed up the stairs.
It was nice up there. When you came up you were looking at a wall. Then there was a hallway with lots of doors. Beside the hallway was a door which I assumed was Karen's room. On the wall beside that was a computer station with one laptop and a printer. Then there was a massive linen closet. At the end of that hall there was a small window that looked out onto the street. Opposite the closet there was a huge bathroom. I mean enormous. There was an amazingly huge jacuzzi tub and an equally large shower. There were three sinks and all but the last one were cluttered. That had to be mine. On the wall to the right of it there was a small window.
My room was right at the end of the Hall Of Doors. It was very bright, and I loved it. It may not have been my kind of bright exactly but it stood out. Karen must have needed to create a girly room just for fun. It was light (but not lime) green with sloping walls that met at a flat strip in the middle of the ceiling. There were two big windows opposite the door. On the bottom half of them there were white garden gates. It was unique. There were painted tulips coming up from the baseboards to complete the look. To the left of the door was a vanity and stool and on the adjoining wall was my closet. To the right of the door was my bed. It was covered in bright green and yellow with lots of flowers.
“Well I guess this is all. My room is on the other side of the wall that your bed is on so if you need anything just ask.” Tyson said and turned and walked out. “Dinner is in an hour.” He called over his shoulder. “So get unpacked.” I flopped down spread eagle on the bed and said to the ceiling,
“This is gonna be great.”
