Chapter eleven

"Where are we going?"

"That would be telling."

I huffed, I'd been pestering Drake for quite some time. We had left the city long behind and I was very puzzled as to where he was taking me. I felt it would certainly help my closure from Craig, now I could concentrate on my future with Drake. I smiled. This made me realise that the two men in my life ,who'd fought for my love, were complete opposites like fire and ice. Every time I made contact with Craig he was the fire, giving me sparks. Making contact with Drake, he was the ice, his touches like snow which my warmth would melt.

The car had came to a stop. I let my thoughts evaporate and Drake took hold of my hand.

"We're gonna have to walk from here."

"Are you going to tell me yet?"

"You really have no patients, do you?"

I laughed. "Nope."

We walked over fields of grass, up to the top of a hill. I caught my breath, from the top of this hill, in the distance you could just about see New York.

"Like it?"

"It's beautiful." I breathed.

"I knew you'd approve."

I rolled my eyes. "What made you think that?"

"I know you Erin."

"Oh, do you?" He didn't even know my name.

"Just about."

I smiled. He put down a picnic basket on the grass.

"It's winter!" I exclaimed.

"and what?"

I laughed again "you're absolutely crazy."

"So, someone told me you liked blueberry cheese cake." He joked.

"Hmm...I wonder who that could be?"

"It makes me wonder who could have known."

I giggled. "Are you trying to flirt with me?"

He waggled his eyebrows and set down a picnic blanket. We both sat down next to each other, the picnic basket behind us. Drake sat, casually throwing up grapes and trying to catch them in his mouth. I laughed.

"Let's see if I can get any in for you."

I picked up the grapes and threw them into his mouth. Some re-bounded, others rolled away.

"You really are terrible at this."

I rolled my eyes.

We had devoured the picnic which Drake supplied.

"Thanks for today."

"No need to thank me, I did it to cheer you up." He flashed me a smile.

"I'm not that miserable."

He gave me look which said you-were-a-miserable-cow-yesterday.

"Oh, shut up."

"I didn't say anything." He put up his hands up in surrender.

I picked up a grape, which had been abandoned on the grass and aimed it at his face. He threw it back, I took off one of my gloves, threw it and ran. He had a cocky smile on his face and chased after me I squealed and he grabbed me from behind. We spun around and I landed with a thud on the grass, Drake leaning over me. Our eyes connected and the gap between us became so small the tips of our noses touched.

I tried to stop the blush creeping up on to my face. I was thankful I didn't have my red hair because I would have honestly looked like a cherry tomato.

"You're something special Erin, everything about you takes my breath away."

He leaned in to kiss me but our locked gaze was broken as the sprinklers in the field came on. I gasped and Drake laughed, pulling me up.

"Oh my god, i'm going to be so wet!"

Before long my hair was drenched.

"Relax a little." Drake smiled, and started to sing.

"She can kill with a smile She can wound with her eyes She can ruin your faith with her casual lies. And she only reveals what she wants you to see, she hides like a child, But she's always a woman to me."

I laughed his voice was smooth and seductive. He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him and we started to slow dance.

We continued to dance until Drake had finished singing the whole song, a couple of months ago this would have made me cringe but now, I felt completely different. Our legs were tangled together, he closed the small gap that remained between us, his hands still on my lower back. I wrapped my hands around his neck, I stared at the tiny water bead on his eyelash, he finally blinked and it dripped down his cheek, I took it away with my thumb. Even though I shivered I didn't feel cold.

"Erin, your lips are blue."

With out hesitation, he gently placed his lips onto mine, I kissed him back our mouth's moved in sync. We both pulled away gasping for air. Our gazes locked, not once did it break, the water still showering around us.

"Erin." Drake whispered into my ear. "I love you."

He kissed my neck and across my jawline before he planted a soft kiss onto my lips again. We laced our hands together. I was too speechless to even say anything, we headed back to the limo, my head on his chest the whole journey back.

To my surprise the door of my hotel room was open, even though I was sure that I had locked it before leaving. I shrugged and walk in. The television was on, now this was strange, I haven't once watched the television; at least not in my hotel room. I frowned, something wasn't right. I flicked my gaze back to the TV and saw the last thing I ever wanted to see.

It was a photo of myself and Drake on the news. I gasped, someone had followed us while we were on the hill. Thankfully, there was only one snap, but it was of our kiss! I stared at the photo again, it was blurred and you couldn't see my face properly. However, you could distinctively tell the person I was kissing was Drake. The volume was on low so I grabbed the remote and turned it up.

"It can now be confirmed, super star Drake Fox is now on dating terms. As you can see, pictures have been released of him sharing romantic moments with a hot blonde but, nobody seems to know who this hot blonde appears to be."

The reporter continued my "The 'unconditional love' singer, since his split from model Cindy Alan Fox claimed that he 'wasn't ready for a relationship' and that he is 'waiting for the right one.' He also added 'he doesn't want to rush into a relationship because as it would end just like his previous marriage."

Happy photographs of him and Cindy appeared onto the screen, while the reporter was talking, but soon enough it was back to talking about me. I went to grab the remote to turn the TV off, but when I turned around to find the remote, the screen was black. Talk about freaky, someone was definitely inside my hotel room. I heard a loud smash. My head snapped towards the bedroom, they were in there.

I darted towards the kitchen as quietly as I could, snatched a frying pan from the cooker, it was now time for my ninja skills to take action. I crept across the wall, like you see in movies (adding a forward roll for dramatic effect.) I was now facing the bedroom door. Carefully, I pushed it open.

"HA!"

I swung my frying pan, only to be met with thin air. I furred my brow. Then, I narrowed my gaze to my bathroom, more than one person was inside. I could hear their faint whispers. Quickly, I opened the door, raised my frying pan and black.

Brilliant, I had been blindfolded and they were trying to gag me. I kicked and thrashed about but a pair of strong hands held me still...So much for my ninja skills.
