Chapter Twenty.
It was Craig and Jenny. I gave them both a questioning look. They both spoke again.
"You can't get married."
"What? But that's crazy." I said.
My Mom shot me a warning glance as if urging me to give them a chance, my Dad was trying not to make eye contact.
"Hear us out, Bliss." Craig pleaded.
I rolled my eyes, "so you want to ruin my big day as well? great, both of you, go ahead."
Jenny sighed. Craig started to speak.
"You can't get married to Drake because he hasn't been faithful and truthful." The whole church gasped once more.
"What do you have to prove that?" I asked.
"I was the second person he has been with since you guys met." Jenny said biting her lip. "He met up with Shontelle just after your kidnapping to help her get out of the country and met me when I was picking up my cousin when she came to visit. I'm sorry Bliss, I didn't..." She didn't continue and trailed off.
I was lost for words, I didn't know exactly what to say, before I could Craig continued.
"He has also been taking your money."
I frowned. Craig proceeded to explain.
"He set up an account for you in his name, everything you earn goes into that account, right? His plan was to divorce you because you declined a prenuptial and he was going to move to France with Jenny and take the money along with him."
When Craig finished I didn't know what to say. I turned to Drake. "Is this true?"
Drake looked at me. "I'm sorry Bliss, you have to understand..."
"After all this time, you lied!" I threw the bouquet into his chest.
"Bliss I wasn't finished." Craig said.
"Oh... Well carry on then."
"You know I told myself I'd start to be honest with you when you quit Amour." He walked down the aisle and walked towards me and took my hands.
"But there is someone I have been lying to for a very long time, myself. The truth is when I played with the wrong girl she turned out to be the right one, I didn't realise this until I saw the diamond from another man on her finger, and I then knew it was too late. When I found out you were in that building with Shontelle I didn't hesitate for one second, it was me who crawled in to get you out because I knew if I lost you I would loose everything I had. I love you Bliss, I always have, and I always will."
"Craig Alan, you really are the worst wedding guest ever."
With out hesitating we both crashed our lips together, I hadn't realised how much I missed the sparks and the heat which Craig's kisses held, I had never wanted a person more in my life, we kissed passionately in front of the wedding guests who were astounded and for once in my life I didn't care.
"Oh crap." Craig said when we finally pulled away.
I walked towards Drake, slipped off my engagement ring and handed it back to him.
"I'm so very, and truly sorry." I paused. "You're the perfect guy Drake, but not the perfect guy for me."
He placed a soft kiss on my cheek. "Let's face it Bliss, we were both never meant to be."
I nodded my head. "I guess this is goodbye right?"
"For now."
I took Craig's hand and we walked out of the church together.
-two years later-
"I now pronounce you husband and wife, and finally, you may kiss your bride."
I stared at Craig, he pulled back my veil and placed a soft alluring kiss onto my lips. He picked me up into his arms and carried me down the rest of the aisle.
"Well, where to now Mrs Alan?" Craig asked.
I laughed. "Where ever your heart desires."
"Well, what my heart desires is in my arms right now. So how about two months in the Caribbean?"
"I'd say that was a perfect plan."
Drake had admitted to fraud and various charges including assisting Shontelle's escape from the police. Jenny had continued to peruse their relationship and I didn't object as I was glad to see the back end of the man who started my career attempted to finish it.
I returned to Amour to work alongside Craig with my own 'Agony Aunt' column, you wouldn't believe some of the stuff I have read. My life seems to have returned to the way it used to be before the media coverage and scandals stories, and I much preferred it this way.
Craig Alan planted a kiss upon my lips and I glanced at the wedding band which had joined my Tiffany engagement ring, they both couldn't have fit more perfectly.
