Chapter Six

Veronica sighed as she looked around the room. Her father had decided, that it was best to inform Dumbledore about what was going on with her. Obviously, Severus didn't care about the fact, that Fred would get hurt if she told somebody else about what had happened. Her father probably had been acceptable but Dumbledore was something completely different.

Veronica felt uncomfortable sitting here, in front of Dumbledore, who sat behind his desk. Severus stood behind her, his hand on her shoulder, as if to keep her where she was. It probably was the best, since she would want to jump up and quickly run away as far as she could. But Veronica knew, wherever she would go, that He would find her.

"So, Veronica, your father has told me that there is something that you would like to talk to me about." Dumbledore said and looked at her over his glasses. Veronica pressed her lips to a small line, before responding "You can get into my head, so you should know already what is going on, shouldn't you?"

Dumbledore chuckled slightly and said "My dear Veronica, you are right, I could have gotten inside your head already, but I respect your privacy. You have wished for me to not get in your head and I have done just that. I will not go inside your head until you allow me to."

Veronica nodded slightly and wondered, if she could just stand up and leave. She was about to try and stand up, as Severus all of a sudden said "Veronica has been turned into a death eater by the Dark Lord. At least that is what she has told me, when I forced her to take the Veritaserum." Veronica flinched slightly as her father mentioned Voldemort.

Dumbledore nodded slowly and looked at Veronica, thinking. After a while he said "Let me see it." Veronica hesitated, but instead, her father grabbed her left arm and pulled up her sleeve slightly, so he revealed the snake around her wrist, instead of a dark mark.

Dumbledore studied the mark for a while until he stated "That clearly is not an ordinary dark mark, so I believe that He doesn't want her to be caught. He clearly must see the potential in her." "And what do you propose we do now, Professor?" Veronica asked.

Dumbledore looked back up at her eyes, while Veronica pulled the sleeve down again. "Hm, what now..." Dumbledore mumbled and then said "Well, I can assure you that I will not expel you. It would make the students talk about why I have kicked out the best student of the fourth year."

Veronica sighed in relief and nodded "Thank you, professor." Then Dumbledore continued "I will want to know if anything else happens. If you have dreams, if He calls for you and so on. Got it?"

Veronica nodded and then the headmaster said "Well then, you may go now." "Have a good day professor." Veronica said as she got up and left the office, followed by Severus. Veronica was glad that it didn't end up worse.

Veronica headed toward the Gryffindor common room, as she felt a strange pull in her stomach, spreading through her body. Her left wrist burned like hell and she felt a little dizzy. She instantly knew that He would want to talk to her.

Veronica quickened her pace as she headed toward the Gryffindor common room, as if she wanted to escape the mysterious pull and her burning wrist.

In the common room, the pull suddenly disappeared and Veronica sighed in relief. She looked around and found Fred, George, Lee, Katie and Angelina sitting on the couches, talking about the upcoming first task of the tournament.

Veronica walked over and sat in Fred's lap. He was surprised at first, but then he wrapped his arms around her waist and planted a small kiss on her lips. "How are you, gorgeous?" Veronica smiled a little and replied "I'm pretty good, and you, handsome?" Fred grinned and said "Now that I've got such a beauty sitting on my lap, a thousand times better than before."
