I peer into my new classroom, holding the blue and white stripy bag I had bought from the market last weekend. Music in A15, yes, this is the right room. Looking around, I notice that I am the first one there, but as soon as I realise this, a flood of people come past me, including the rather flustered teacher, with his shirt half un-tucked. I sneak in last, and close the door behind me, hovering at the side of the room as I don't have a seat yet.
'You must be Ashlea.' The teacher bellows, tucking his shirt in and bringing his tie down off of his shoulder.
'Yep.' I shrug.
'I'm afraid to say, you will be the rose between two thorns. Bellamy, move over one, Howard, stay there.' He continues as 'Bellamy', and 'Howard' both groan - I can only assume they are best friends.
'So, get into the same groups as you were in last week, and continue with the assignment you started.' Mr Rutherford says, sitting down and flicking through the register as everyone stands up and shuffles out the door to various rooms. I just stand here, confused, until Dom pokes his head around the door.
'Do you want to come in our group?' He offers with a smirk, so I accept and scurry into the room.
'So, I'm Dom, this is Matt, Chris and Tom.' He says, introducing me to everyone.
'I play drums, Matt does guitar, piano and sings, Chris does bass and Tom does tech, can you play anything?' He asks, looking at me with eyes the colour of a storm at sea.
'I'm pretty nifty with a triangle.' I joke, as Chris smiles, 'But my Dad was a music teacher before he decided to join the army, so I play percussion, brass, strings, most things really.' Matt looks quite impressed, so I must've said something right.
'Awesome!! So we basically have to come up with a song in gwoups, write it and wecord it.' Matt explained to me, staring intently with his bright blue eyes. 'We have alweady finished, but we could add in a piano bit and some harmonies for you if you'd like.' Aww, he says his r's as w's - that is so cute!
'Yeah that would be great, I really don't mind.' I replied, taking a seat at the small piano in the corner of the studio. 'You lot play what you have and I will sort something out.' They all took there places and began to play.

'You're weally good! Your Dad taught you all of that?' Matt asks inquisitively, stroking his guitar with a finger. I nod and blush.
'So can you wemember that or do you want to go thwough it again? Once we have it sorted we usually just piss around the rest of the lesson, you know basically do fuck all.' He giggles, as Dom stands up from behind the minimal drum kit.
'Language Bellamy!' Comes a voice from next door, and Matt's lips curl into a smile.
'Sorry sir!' He shouts sarcastically, as I grab a piece of paper from the drawer to jot down what I played. For the rest of the lesson all we do is just chat, and by the end of the lesson, I feel like I know all 4 of them a lot better.
'Everyone, out of my classroom.' Mr Rutherford huffs, as we all grab our bags and head out into the corridor, which is crowded with students. I look around, starting to panic, I have no idea where I am going! Just as I am about to give up all hope I feel a hand grab mine, I look up and find Matt looking at me, very amused, he pulls me through the crowd and helps me find my next lesson.
'What do you have now?'
'Erm,' I begin, as I study my timetable. 'English, with Mr Hunter?'
'Oh great, I have that too, just follow me.' He says and I feel comforted, I see a hand go up through the crowds and Matt and I push our way over to Dom.
'Miss Harvey, please take a seat next to, let me see, who needs the most shaping up... Mr Howard.' Mr Hunter grunts with a Scottish accent, he is incredibly tall, he must be about 6,6''. I do as instructed and take a perch next to Dom. He greets me and after about half an hour of work, the lesson turns from quite boring into incredibly boring.
'Hey, listen to this.' Dom whispers, passing me one of his earphones. 'Good aren't they?'
'Only my favourite bands! Rage Against the Machine! I love the drumming, people tend to forget about the drumming, but it is my favourite part of a song.' I murmur, he grins and looks at me.
'Marry me will you?' He jokes, and in all honesty I wouldn't mind, but there is something about Matt that just seems so genuine.
The rest of the day seems to pass really quickly, I sit next to Tom in maths, Matt in Physics (and just for the record - he is insanely good at physics.) and a girl called Kelly in Biology, who is apparently going out with Chris; she seems lovely.
I manage to find my locker, with some help from Kelly, and after grabbing my coat I set off on the walk home, plugging in my headphones. I hear a muffled shout, and turn around, my straight, black hair swishing around. Matt is running up to me, holding his bag down by his side, Dom following closely behind him.
We decide to take the 'scenic route' home, and I rustle through my bag for my key.
'If you ever need us, I am at number 34 down the road, and Dom is at 37. We are walking tomorrow morning at about 7:45, so you are welcome to come.' Matt says very politely, and they both give me a hug and go on their ways.
'You're late.' My Mother says coldly, damn, I thought she was out for an extra hour or two. 'Who were those boys. Branded as a slut on our first day are we?' she continues, with a sarcastic edge to her voice.
'N, n, no. That is just Matt and Dom, they are from school, live just down the road.' I stuttered, backing away.
'Just leave me in peace you worthless piece of shit.' She mumbled, sitting down at the kitchen table and taking some pills out of a small orange pot.
