A/N: Yes, I am on a roll.
"Tum yahaan kya kar rahe ho?" she hissed over her shoulder, her voice suddenly high-pitched.
"Tum k-kya k-kar r-rahi ho yahaan?" he replied with fright ringing clearly in his voice.
"Yeh meri mom ka room hai!" she gritted out. Her hand pressed further on her eyes and she tried to pry the image of Mantu standing there naked waist up out of her mind. Mahadev, what sort of test was she being put through? And for how long?
"H-haan t-toh... y-your m-mother s-said I could ch-change here..."
She ground her teeth together. "Was it so urgent for you to change?"
"Oh madam! Shirt kharaab kardi hai aapne humaari! L-logon ne d-dekh liya toh t-tarah-tarah ke s-savaal poochheinge... ph-phir?"
For a moment, she completely forgot about the state of the man who was standing behind her. She turned around viciously. "Haan toh maine kaha tha tumse ke ladkiyon ke function pe jaasoosi karne aao? And it was so intelligent of you to stand right behind the door, right?" He clutched his shirt to his chest, reminding her to clamp her hand back on her eyes and look away. Oh god... that was too much stress for her to handle! Pressing both hands over her face, she paced around her mother's room blindly. "Merde* merde merde merde merde merde mer-"
The heel of her sandal abruptly gave way and she felt herself falling. Amaya yelped, apprehending the ground to hit her hard but in its place, it was warmth she landed into. But she did not feel thankful at all. Nope. She felt like crying. Because how was she supposed to get the image, feeling and memory of a shirtless Mantu holding her this tight now? Annoyed, she scrunched her eyes shut and tried to stand up on her own but her efforts only resulted in her slipping a bit more with a louder yelp and his arms holding her even more firmly around the waist. She was totally going to die before Rachi Di's wedding and all because of this idiotic-
"Amaya?" Her Mamiji's voice calling her name made her eyes pop open. Mantu's eyes had opened just as wide as he stared down at her. He was panicking. She was panicking. Gaah! Everything was just fabulous. "Tum theek ho na, Amaya?" Oh god! And Dimple Chaubey was right outside that door! What was she going to do now? Thank god she had thought of locking the door... "Arrey, Amaya? Kya hua?"
The stupid duffer who was holding her was just about to open his mouth and reply to her aunt for her but she realised it just in time and fastened her hand on his mouth. "Hum- I mean, main theek hoon, Mamiji!" she shouted in reply, praying that the woman would leave but that would not be characteristic of her curious aunt, would it?
"I heard you scream, beta, is everything alright?"
The amount of curses that were erupting in her brain... it was a pity she could not voice them out... And in addition to her aunts questions, there was the man she was utterly in love with who stood there, glaring down at her and holding her by the waist, with his naked torso pressed against her... Would it be too dramatic to ask for death right now?
"Amaya?"
"H-haan! S-sab t-theek hai!" Great! She had gotten his stammer too. "B-bas kuchh s-saamaan g-gir gaya tha t-toh..."
"Achha? Main maddad karne aati hoon tumhaari."
"Nahin!" she shouted immediately and at the same time, Mantu's arms tightened around her. Swallowing, she fought to remain calm in this whole mess and craned her neck to look at the door. "Matlab... aap... hum... aap neeche jaayiye na! Aap Mom to upaar aane se rok lijiye, tab tak main yeh sab saaf kardeti hoon! Mom ne yeh dekh liya toh pareshaan hojaayeingi, na?" Forget about Mom, Mamiji, if this door opens, you would be pareshaan by what you would see...
