How to know they're upset

Aries:
Their mood will ruin their entire life for the time being (a.k.a that day), and they may take it out on you in snide comments or ignoring you entirely. Remember it's not you and it's not always intentional. Eventually Aries will realize that the world is not out to get them like they think, and their apologies and tears will prove that. Be patient for them.

Taurus:
Will shut down and close their mouth and it will be next to impossible to get them to open up. Tauruses may take long showers to calm down, or go shopping at the nearest store but eventually they'll lay their head down on your lap, wrap up in their favourite blanket, and let you know how they're feeling. Pay attention to body language, they want you to notice.

Gemini:
Expect short, clipped, one-worded responses over text message. Geminis will go from sixty to zero as fast as they need to, to get the point across. They'll never ignore you, but the way they talk to you makes you wish they did. Understanding the Gemini experience is to understand that words mean just as much as actions to them, and they take careful notice of both. Mean what you say, and say what you mean.

Cancer:
Passive-aggressive is practically a Cancer's middle name. They'll go about their day as if everything is fine, but don't expect the normal enthusiasm and happiness they usually bring to the table. They may need to express all their emotions, with as many tears as possible, though they try to scale them back for your benefit. Trust that these moments will make you both stronger, and pay better attention to their moods next time.

Leo:
With raised eyebrows, subtle comments, and sometimes outward anger, Leos want you to know something's wrong. They may huff and puff as if the world will blow down at the slightest of their breaths, but ultimately this gets boring and they will tire of putting on a show. They'll want to have a long discussion, so give them enough time to explain how they feel and see they're more flexible than everyone thinks.

Virgo:
Quiet. That's how a Virgo acts when they're truly upset. It is both terrifying and subtle all at once, and makes you wish you knew what was going on in their head. If you can't figure it out right away, it's best to just act on every compassionate impulse you have and ask them to explain it because you're too stupid to understand. They won't be mean, they'll be honest. Know the difference and understand it's for both of your benefits.

Libra:
Not usually prone to anger, Libras go the anxious route when upset about anything. It will come across as indecisive, a little needy at times, and maybe even fake. They put a smile on for the world to see, not trying to fool anyone but simply because they don't feel the need to wear their heart on their sleeves. If you really mean it when you ask them what's wrong, they will tell you. So mean it.

Scorpio:
Scorpio can easily make your life hell or pretend like you never existed in the first place, depending on the situation. Please understand that their shows of revenge are petty ways of letting out small grudges they have yet to let go. Best not to let them stew for too long, but to address the issues upfront. They will appreciate the candor and your expedience, and you'll both learn to understand the other much better.

Sagittarius:
Subtlety is not their forte, and a Sagittarius will be as direct and honest as possible, even to the point of bluntness. Try not to take offense, it's simply their way of confronting the problem outright, rather than waste their time with fake politeness. Learn to appreciate the direct nature of this fire sign, and you'll both solve problems a lot faster.

Capricorn:
Muttering under their breath and repressing their true feelings is what a Capricorn does best. They don't require an audience for their emotional turmoil, but they sure like to write about it in their journal at home. They're not hurt all that easily, choosing to ignore most of their problems, so when they are make sure you understand what the problem is. Often their emotions will filter through their body language and actions. Give them stability when they need it most.

Aquarius:
Aquarius will try to downplay everything that happens to them, choosing to rise above such human emotions like anger and sadness. They will use the heat of their intellect and cut you into small psychological pieces verbally. Yes this hurts, and maybe they can be less cutthroat, but if they love you they will learn to be less opinionated and less critical. Notice the difference in their various relationships and you'll understand where they are coming from. Empathy is everything.

Pisces:
With tears in their eyes all day it's impossible to ignore the moods of a Pisces. If ignored, everything becomes a scene from a dramatic movie where they become a star worthy of an oscar. Let them rant, let them rave, let them flood your space with emotions. When it's over they will come to you with tea, a hug, kind words, and the expectation of the same back. Always give it to them.
