Chapter 3: Surprises

James watched, out of eye range, as Malfoy was talking to Lilly and Skye, His face got a little red when he saw Malfoy put his arm around Skye's shoulder and pulled her in closer. He saw them talk for a while, and finally Malfoy walked away. James' attention was fixed on Skye's face, she looked at Lilly with wide and exclaimed something to his sister. Skye looked beyond ecstatic, he turned and saw his friend Greg Evans, "Hey Greg." he tried to not look at Skye and his sisters direction. "How was your summer mate.?" Greg asked trying to figure out why James was looking a bit hurt. "It was ok, the family went to France. Yours.?" Greg began talking about his summers adventures, and how he met his dads muggle side of the family. James tried his hardest to pay attention, but he couldn't help but take a few glances at Skye, he wondering why she was so happy after Malfoy left. "So what do you think.?" Greg asked. "Uhm, yeah sounds good." James was a good liar and played things of well. "REALLY, you would let me ask your sister out.!" James looked at Greg with piercing eyes, "I totally thought you were going to say no mate, I really thought you would've killed me.!" Greg was smiling so brightly, and James didn't know what to do.

Greg began sprinting down the path to the carriages, James tried to follow him but got stopped by what he saw. "Malfoy.! Can we wait until later.?" Skye was laughing at Malfoy, who had his arm around her waste and she was leaning close to him. Greg climbed into the carriage, "are you coming in.?" Greg asked, James sighed and looked at everyone in the carriage. Everyone was in there, Lilly, Albus , his girlfriend, Hugo, Rose, Greg, Zabini, Malfoy and Skye. James climbed in sitting in between Hugo and Lilly.

Skye and Lilly were talking in hushed whisperings and getting all excited, Malfoy looked at them, "Don't say anything yet, it's our little secret." He winked at them. James was uncomfortable, sitting infront of Skye, next to Lilly and across from Malfoy. Malfoy had all his attention on Skye, and smiled when she looked up at him. Albus and his girlfriend were too busy snogging, while Zabini and Greg talked about quidditch. Lilly got up and sat next to Greg when she heard them begin talking about her favourite activity. Greg looked over at James and grinned, he winked and yawned and stretch, he was doing the over used stretching then placing their arm around the girl routine. Lilly smiled, she knew that that was exactly what he was trying to do. Skye looked at James, "How was your summer at France.?" she asked politely, "It was ok, I missed my friends, but it was good. How was your summer.?" He also asked politely, "It was great, I went to Greece, it was beautiful, I have never seen anything as beautiful as that in my entire life.!" James laughed at her, "Look in the mirror, and you'll find something even more beautiful." He blushed and quickly bit his lip. Had he really just said that. "Oh," Skye chuckled and blushed a bit, "thank you James, but I'm not nearly as close to beauty as Greece." She smiled. "Don't be modest Skye," it was Malfoy who replied, James eyes were beginning to fill with anger,"you know you are the most beautiful girl in the school, even veela girls couldn't stand a chance against you." She smiled and kissed him on the ckeek, she whispered in his ear, "No problem, Watters, anything for you." He grinned.

Once they finally reached the castle, James was the first one to get out, he walked by himself to the castle enterance and dissapeared. Albus was holding hands with his girl, "Did you hear what James said to Skye.? I think he fancies her." she exclaimed, "I know, everyone knows that he has fancied her since the first day they met. He would always gush about her when we were younger." Albus laughed. Ofcourse Skye and Lilly were right behind them and heard the entire thing. Lilly looked over at Skye, "Is that true, Lilly, has he liked me all these years.?" Lilly smiled and reluctantly nodded, "Since the first second he saw you."

After the feast, the Head Master Gillycut, anounced the regular anouncements, "We have some exciting news for all of you, we are once again, doing," he waited a bit before answering, "the triwizard tournament." Everyone cheered, "I know that the last one, had a tragic outcome, but we have nothing to fear now, everything has been advanced and the danger that is still there is lessoned. And there is also new rules, you have to 16-years-old to enter. We will be travelling to France, and staying at Beauxbatons school, and our school will only be taking 500 students, between 5-7 years. If you wish to attend please to talk to your head teacher and prefects. That will be all, everyone please enjoy this year."
