Link had finally managed to find his way out of the dungeon through a maze of underground sewer tunnels with very little help from Midna at all. The tunnel opened up from a cave in the southern parts of Hyrule field. The sky was still the same honey color with dark ominous clouds. Midna stretched and let out a yawn.

"Well that was gruesome," she said, sounding disgusted.

Link rolled his eyes. He had done all the work. What was she complaining about?

She let out a happy sigh as she looked up at the sky, "This world of yours looks so much better in the colors of Twilight. Very beautiful, wouldn't you say? It is a shame you will have to return it to normal."

Link ignored her comments. She seemed to understand that he wanted to get back to business.

"Zant keeps control of the mirror in the Gerudo Desert."

Link turned west and started the long walk to the desert wasteland, but Midna yanked up on his neck hairs to get him to stop. He looked at her with a snarl.

"Hold on, you need some kind of weapon and shield before you go there! Once I regain control of the mirror and change you back into a Hylian, what do you plan on fighting the Gerudo with? I doubt biting them will have the same effect."

Link didn't like the idea of going further out of the way, but she had a point. He would need a sword and shield to get out of the desert alive. He thought for a moment. Link already had a shield at home. It was a beautifully crafted wooden one, with the Ordon goat carved into it. It was given to him when he first started his training sessions with Bo, and now it was hanging on his wall, above the fire place. That took care of the shield, but what about the sword? He was still saving up for his own sword. Bo had swords, but that would mean he would have to break in and steal a sword. He didn't like the sound of that. Link turned with a sigh and started running south to Ordon. He needed to move quickly if they were going to retrieve this mirror and save Zelda.

After what felt like hours of running, they arrived at Link's tree house in Ordon Village. Panting from his long, exhausting sprint, Link paused to catch his breath. Midna floated off his back and up to the porch to take a look in the window. She must have spotted the shield, be cause she crossed her arms and looked over the edge at him.

"I guess I will have to get this one myself, seeing as you can't climb a tree right now," she let out a sigh that sounded like this was too much to ask of her. She floated threw the open window and appeared moments later. Apparently she could manipulate her oddly glowing hair into an extra arm, because when she returned, she was holding the shield with it. She plopped down on his back and crossed her arms as she examined the shield. She did not seem pleased with it in the least.

"I guess this will have to do," she said with a sigh, "Lets hope you have a better sword in mind, preferably one not made of wood," some how, she made the shield vanish into thin air, "I will keep this safe until you need it later."

Link slowly moved down the trail towards the village. He spotted all the villager's gathered behind Bo's house. They seemed to be having a meeting. Link guessed it was about what had happened to Zelda, and that they were making some kind of invasion plans. What ever it was, it gave him the perfect opportunity to sneak into the house. Link crept up to the porch and pushed open the door as quietly as possible, which was not easy with the remaining chain rattling around his ankle. He walked across the room to the large trunk where Bo kept his different swords. Link rummaged though them, trying to find his favorite long sword.

"Could you just pick one already?" Midna said crossing her arms impatiently.

Link ignored her and continued his search. If he was going to have to fight his way though the Gerudo, he was going to use the sword of his preference. Finally he spotted it buried in the bottom. He took hold of the leather wrapped around the blade with his mouth and pulled it out of the chest.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH! A wolf!"

Link spun around to see Ilia trembling behind him. Midna dove into his shadow leaving Link to fend for himself. With sword in mouth, he bolted for the open door. He cleared the porch in one single bound, just in time to see Bo running up to the house.

"After that wolf!" Bo shouted.

By the time he reached his tree house, he figured he had out run them. He was just beginning to relax his pace when he herd hoof beats racing racing behind him. No one but Link owned a horse in Ordon, and she was with Impa. To Link's horror, Bo came riding down the path on Impa's white horse! Link ran as fast as he could from the thundering hooves. He could see the swinging bridge fast approaching. He jumped onto the bridge with all his might, making it swing and rattle. His quick thinking payed off, spooking the horse and forcing Bo to continue the chase on foot. By this time Link had already crossed to the other side, and was standing in front of the iron gates of Ordon Springs. He dug a hole just big enough to squeeze under. Once he was safely inside, Link took shelter in an old abandoned fox hole. He heard Bo open the gate and look around for him.

"Where did it go?" asked another villager who had caught up with Bo.

"I don't know, but it had one of my prized swords in its mouth," Bo answered angrily.

"What would a wolf want with a sword?" the other voice asked sounding completely baffled by such behavior.

"I have no idea. Let's go home. We will track the beast later," Bo said, sounding defeated.

Link heard the gate slam shut and then everything was quiet. Only when he was convinced they were gone did he crawled out of his tight quarters. Midna retreated from his shadow and floated before him.

"Well that was exciting. I though you were going to be turned into a pancake for sure! You think fast under pressure. That is good. You are going to need that."

She turned her attention to the sky and opened up a portal above the springs. It looked just like the one Zant created just before Zelda vanished. A black whole in the sky with glowing green lines that matched Midna's tattoos. Once again she sat on Link's back like he was her personal horse.

"Well what are you waiting for? Let's go!" she motioned for him to walk under the portal.

Link obediently stepped under the portal. He felt his body becoming lighter as it broke into tiny little peaces and traveled up into the portal. He closed his eyes and prayed this wasn't a trap.
