It's Saturday morning. There's sunshine leaking through my bedroom window directly into my face. Ugh... Why didn't I close the curtains? I flung my covers off of me and slowly shuffled into the kitchen to make some breakfast before I got ready for work. "Well good morning Claire. How did u sleep last night?" My mom asked while drinking her morning dose of coffee. "Ok I guess," I said while making my way towards the cabinet for some cereal. My mom was always an early bird and I may have her personality, but I don't share her love for the morning time. It's funny how we look almost alike except she has green eyes and curly hair, other than that we could almost be twins.
"Do yuuh haaf werk diss morhning?" I asked her while having a mouth full of cereal.
"Claire what have I told you about talking with your mouth full? And yes I have to work today." She tried giving me a stern look, but failed miserably and I could help to smile at her failed attempt.
"You know I love you mom"
"I love you too. Also don't forget that the anniversary of Matthews death is this coming Friday" She had a pained expression on her face as she said it. I know why.
Matthew is my dad. He died three years ago, at least that's what they say even if they never found his body. He went missing, but they never found him so they assumed he's dead. I try not to think about it too much.
"Ok mom, I won't." I half smiled at her then went to my room to finish my breakfast so I could give her some alone time.

After breakfast I went through my daily morning routine of getting ready. Then I headed out to my car to drive the 20 minute trip to work.
When I pulled into Muffin Mania I took my rightful place behind the register and pasted a fake cheery smile on my face.
Suddenly this gorgeous guy walked in and caused my smile to falter.
He had long wavy light brown hair and striking eyes that didn't really have a certain color, but looked like he could see right through you. I couldn't think of anything but those eyes and his full luscious lips as he walked up to the counter.
"He- Hello, wel-welcome to Muffin Mania. May I- I take ur order?" I feel like such an idiot stuttering like that. "Yes, I'd like a blueberry muffin please," he stared intently at me the whole time he said it as if he was thinking about something.
"Will that be all?"
"Yeah, that's it." He smiled. It was a cute smile.
Something is off about him though, but I have yet to figure out what it is. He seemed to have an aura that just screamed dork and something else I can't put my finger on.
Dangerous, maybe?
