Chapter 1: The Funeral

[Haeri's POV]

It's been a year since Flora, my mother died. Kai and I came to her funeral. I put on her favourite flowers beside her and pray with Kai. It's kind a hurt that all of the person I love died. Maybe I'm just a bad luck. Beside my mother grave, they are my biological parents. I looked at Kai. He's been here with me. He never leaves me behind and always be there for me. My life always fuck up. I'm afraid that I will lose him too. He's the only guy that I could trust and also his father. But will he be with me forever?

No, there's no forever. I think I should leave and get away from both of them. That's a good way. I didn't even tell Kai about this. I should just walk away without anyone knows. Kai looked at me and smile. I smile back at him. Of course, I love him. You guys wouldn't know how much I fucking loves this guy.

We grew up together. Play together, skinship together. Yeah, Kai has a lot of girls surrounding him but he never left me behind. Sometimes, the girls kind a jealous with my relationship with him. We're just too close. So fuck it. It feels like we're soulmate.

But not until the relationship that girls always wanted. We're just buddies. He wrapped his arms around my waist and snuggled around my neck. He rested his chin on my shoulder. We've been standing here quite long.

"Haeri."

"Hhm?"

"I'll protect you from now on." he kissed my shoulder. My tears started to fall. I don't think I need that anymore Kai. I really wanted to be with you but I'm just afraid I will lose you too. That night I stay up in our private room where all the secret agents staying here. I sat on the couch. Then, someone gave me a soda. I looked up and he smiled. "Just to release the boredness." he said. I smiled and we both do the cheers. "That's better. Smile everyday honey." I rolled my eyes. "Thank you." He sat across me with the office chair. "It's kind a late. Come on. I'll send you home." I nodded and stood up. Kai is in his duty now. So just myself here. Accompanied by this beautiful creature.

No, he's Byun Baekhyun. The great hacker here. He brought me to Jeongsu's Mansion. I live there since mother died. Kai's father is the one who take care of me. "Thanks Baekhyun." He nodded and ruffled my hair. He send me home. "You've came home." Mr.Kim said. I smiled. "I need a rest." I said. He nodded in understand. "You don't have to come to the office. You can have a leave." he said. I smiled and nodded. This might be the last day you'll see me. I came to Mr.Kim and hugged him. "Aigoo, my daughter." he hugged me back.

I felt burn on my eyes but I held it. I broke the hugged and went upstairs. I laid down on my bed. I should leave this place early in the morning. I'll pack my things tomorrow just in case Kai came in here. He will be suspicious. I didn't realise I stay up late until I heard a click. The door opened and revealed Kai. "Haven't sleep yet?" he came in and sat down on the bed. I shook my head. He came near to me. "Do you want me to accompany you?"  I slowly nodded. This will be our last day together. He came in my bed as I make a space for him. He wrapped his arm around my head as a pillow and stroke my hair. I snuggled on his chest and smelled his scent.

It's sound fucking cheesy. I know. We are not even together. Slowly he breathe in calm. I looked up and he already asleep. I kissed his cheek and wrapped my arm on his torso. I slowly drifted to sleep.
