**Recap**

"I just don't see you fighting, after all the times you've made me call peace!" Naruto flopped back on my bed and spread his arms wide.

"Honey, I used to be an Anbu, before I retired." Naruto's eyes snapped open from their closed position. "I remember, they used to call me some weird name." I shrugged and closed my bag, making sure that it zipped up.

"What was it?" Naruto sat up on my bed and was staring at me with his big blue eyes.

A smirk spread across my face. "Don't know, can't remember," I said as I grabbed my weapons pouch and strapped it around my waist. My little brother groaned, and rolled his eyes. "Alright, I'm all packed. I need to go." I leaned down and kissed Naruto's forehead. "Be good, and don't trash the house."

"Yeah Yeah!"

"Bye, Naruto." With that said, my hands formed a hand-sign, and the next moment, I was at the front gate where a certain silver haired man waited for me. "Let's go."

*End Recap**

I could faintly see his mask shift as the corner of his lips tugged into a smirk. "Are you ready?"

Rolling my eyes, I slipped my bag over my head, letting the strap rest on my left shoulder. "Of course," I replied. "Aren't I always?"

That said, I walked right through the village gates with Kakashi following behind me. Taking a breath, I added chakra to the bottoms of my feet and jumped up into the trees.

** Eleven Hours Later**

Eleven hours.

That's how long we were traveling. Now, entering the Land of Snow, we stopped at a small inn where we could take a rest and warm up and change into warmer clothes.

Inside the inn, I bit my lip as we approached the front desk.

The small old woman behind it smiled brightly, showing off her aging face. "Why hello, dear," she greeted. "What can I help you with?"

Kakashi spoke before I could. "We need a room." Glancing at him, I noticed him slightly shaking, indicating that he was cold as well.

Hell, of course he was. It's freezing outside. Even the little old lady was bundled. We had cloaks on, but they did little to help shield us.

"Oh my, of course." Her smile widened. "Just don't make too much noise."

Glaring at her, I took the room key she held out, while Kakashi paid.

Leaving him, I went to go find the room.

When I did, I fought with the key.
"Go in, damn it!" I hissed, shoving the metallic thing back into the hole.

A large hand covered mine, carefully guiding the key into the hole, and turning it. The lock clicked and I grumbled, to which Kakashi chuckled.

Entering the room, he closed the door and I unzipped my cloak and tossed it on the small desk and kicked off my boots.

With a heavy sigh, I dropped onto the bed, my eyes staring at the dresser that was in front of the bed.

"How are you holding up?" Kakashi asked. My eyes snapped to the silver haired man, who was placing his cloak over the back of a chair before seating himself beside me.

"I'm fine," I answered, closing my eyes and laying back on the bed. "It's been a long time since I've traveled like this."

Kakashi nodded. "We'll stay here tonight, and leave in the morning." I felt the bed shift when I closed my eyes. "Ayumi," I heard him whisper my name.

Peeking an eye open, I hummed in response.

"Let's get some sleep," he said, turning away from me and standing. His fingers curled around the bottom of his shirt, and tugged, pulling it up and off his body. Tossing it aside, Kakashi eyed me, then glanced toward the pillows, before looking back at me.

"What?" I frowned, pushing my hair away from my face.

"Memories."

That just made my frown deepen, before I realized what memories must have been running though his mind and my face flushed.

Letting out a small sigh, I closed my eyes.

"You're not sleeping there," I heard Kakashi state, before I was scooped up, my hands immediately went to his shoulders and I glared at him, my cheeks still burning.

"I wasn't going to sleep, baka!"

"Liar," he chuckled and started moving.

"Am not," I pursed my lips when he placed me on the bed.

Kakashi waved his hand, signaling for me to scoot over. Doing so, I pulled off my stockings, folded them and placed them on the nightstand. I felt the bed dip when Kakashi sat down.

I tucked myself under the covers and laid down, my back facing the silver haired man. "Ayumi," I heard him say quietly. Humming in response, I turned my head. Kakashi loomed over me, and placed a small kiss on my forehead.

"Stay on your own side," I mumbled and turned back to facing the wall. Closing my eyes, I found myself falling asleep. And right before the darkness took over, I felt Kakashi's arm slip around my waist, before I was pulled back into his warmth.
