After putting the ice cream into the freezer, concealed in case I won’t be able to finish it before Mother and Father get home, I grabbed an already packed bag of necessities for my little hike in the forest. I slung the bag over my shoulder, felt my way down the hallway for seemed to be the last time and walked out of my front door, shutting it and locking it behind me. Since the forest was right behind my house, all I had to do was wind around the side of my house and my feet immediately felt the cool, muddy earth.

Night was already upon me. I could hear owls hooting ominously in the distance, crickets playing a melancholy song, a small stream bubbled maybe a few yards away from me. I gulped. It indeed was scary in the forest at night...alone. My bare feet were making a trail for me to follow back home in case I would get lost. Sinking in the soft earth here and there, I memorized each little stone, stick and anything else that was in my path from my house to where I was currently. I crossed my arms over my chest and shivered slightly. The air was becoming awfully nippy for a summer night. I do have a wool blanket in my bag, but I’ll pull it out when I stop.

Crunch. I froze. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Fallen leaves were crunching behind me. But leaves cannot crunch on their own...

“Hey I see her!”
“Yeah just up ahead!”

I hear voices. People were following me. Perverts? I listened in more closely.

“Don’t worry we’ll catch up. She can’t see you know.”

I gasped. Marco’s voice? What is he doing here in the forest? Maybe he’s worried about me. I turned around in the direction of his voice. I’ll just wait for him to catch up a little to see what he wants. It sounds like he’s not alone though. Was he scared of the “monster?” My ears perked up. They were closer now. I could hear them panting hard as they ran towards me.

“Hey Jezebel! Marco greeted me.
“Hi Marco.” He was about two feet in front of me, his panting friends surrounded all sides of me. There were about five of them. “What are you doing here?” I asked.

   His “friends” snickered.

“Oh I just got worried about you Jez. You said you were going into this forest all by your lonesome so I thought me and my buddies could protect you.”

   More snickering.

I shook my head. “Thank you Marco but I don’t need protection. I’m not as helpless as you may think I am.”

As I turned to walk away, two of his “buddies” grabbed my arms.

“H-hey what’s going on? Let me go!” I yelled in panic as I struggled in their strong grip.

Marco started laughing. Huh? “Marco tell your friends to let me go please!”
“Don’t think I can do that Jezebel.”
I stopped struggling. “Why not? Aren’t you my friend?”
Marco laughed even harder. “Wow you really bought that didn’t you? I never wanted to be your friend. I just wanted to get you alone so that I could have a little fun with you that’s all.”

Marco tilted my chin up with his finger. Though I could not see his face, I felt his hot breath against my lips. He smelled of whiskey....
Tears began running down my face. “I believed you,” I sobbed, “I thought you were my friend.”
“Ah you’re so naive Jezebel. You blind girls are so easy to fool.” Marco’s friends laughed.
“Come on Marco rip her virgin panties off!"
“Hey can I play with her next?”
“Patience, patience. It’s my turn now,” Marco said.
Something warm and hard rubbed against my leg.
“I know you can’t see my dick Jezebel, but can you feel it?” Marco murmured evilly.
“Ah-” I began to scream but Marco clamped a hand over my mouth.
“In the forest, no one can hear you scream,” he whispered sinisterly in my ear.
I closed my eyes and let the tears flow freely.
This is it, I thought, I’m going to be raped and no one can help me. I”m sorry for disobeying you Mother, Father. Marco started peeling down the spaghetti straps of my dress as his friends cheered him on.
I really am helpless...

Suddenly Marco stopped trying to get me out of my dress. The two men who were holding my arms suddenly let me go. I fell to the ground, mud splashing all over me.
“W-what the hell are you?” Marco cried. His voice was shaking. He’s scared...

A low growl rumbled from behind me. I sat in the mud, frozen in place, listening silently. Marco’s friends were all screaming like the Devil himself was standing there with them.

Scream after scream after scream. Bones snapping. Clothes being torn apart. Bodies dropping like dead weights onto the ground. The sickening sounds filled my ears.

   No. No. What’s happening?

A warm liquid touched the side of my leg. It smelled...rusty. Blood? I began to feel dizzy.

“Wait stop. Please don’t kill me man!” Marco screamed in pure terror.

   Another low, menacing growl.
“AHHHHHH!” Marco’s terrified scream echoed all around me.

His body dropped right in front of where I knelt in the mud. I could still smell the whiskey... A sad whimper sounded close to my ear. Oh no I’m next... Dizziness swept over me stronger this time as the smell of blood clogged my nostrils. It’s too much. I’m going to...

   I let unconsciousness take me...
