Chapter 4:
The next day at school, Jace and I explained that we were together, and about how Jeff pretended yesterday so he could cover it up. Mr. Matthews was extatic of course, he did win 90,000 after all. My friends weren't that happy though. After Jace left they came and talked to me.
"Ali we just don't want to see you hurt again. He left you for that bitch and you know it. Why do you put up with this?"
"Because everyone deserves a second chance Beth."
"Why did you say yes?"
"Because Taylor, I feel like there's things I need to figure out first and I can't figure them out if I don't try."
"Ali can I talk to you for a second? In private?"
"Yeah Jeff. See you later girls!" I walked away with Jeff to an empty classroom. It was actually my old ballet room. Huh.
"Ali, why did you agree to go out with him?"
"You were ok with it yesterday when I told you. What happened since yesterday?"
"I figured out that............ Nothing. Nothing changed. I just didn't think you'd agree."
"What did you figure out Jeff?"
"Nothing."
"Whatever."
"Just watch your back alright?"
"Ok mom."
"I really sound like your mom?"
"Little bit. Yeah."
"Jeez."
"Go find your boyfriend little miss diss. And meet me at the front of the school at the end of the day. We'll go hang at that one playground thing."
"Whatever." Jeff had been calling me little Miss Diss since I first met him. I told him he was a stupid, mean, boy and he should eat his pants. That there started a new generation of nickname.
I walked out of the classroom and around the corner to see Jace talking to Cindy. I know I shouldn't, but I have to. It's time to eavesdrop. I leaned in as far as I could without being caught.
"But Jaceee baby, I want you back."
"No Cindy. You used me, and I don't want to get back with you."
"Oh please, you aren't planning on using her yourself?"
"No. I plan on making it up to her because I left her for you in the first place."
"Well, I support your first decision." I couldn't take it anymore.
"Back off Cindy." Jace and Cindy both jumped into the air and Jace turned to me.
"You were spying on us?"
"No, I was eavesdropping. There's a difference you know."
"Sure there is."
"Oh there is. Anyway, back to why I showed up in the first place and didn't continue what I was doing. You need to BACK OFF Cindy."
"What if I don't want to?"
"I'll finish what I started two years ago."
"Whatever." She walked away and Jace was still staring at me.
"What?"
"Do you not trust me? Is that why you were eavesdropping?"
"Jace, I can't lie to you. I do have trust issues with you. You broke my heart and left me alone in the world. And don't tell me that your suprised because we definately have some issues to work out over time."
"Whatever. I have to go." Jace left me standing by myself in th middle of the hallway. What was going on? I've been dating him for one day and everything is already weird.
Jeff's P.O.V.
I hate him. I hate that sick bastard. Jace, is my one and only enemy. I hate what he did to Alison and that's something I will never forgive him for. He broke her heart and now he's going to do it again. I can't stand not telling her but she would never believe me. I know how much I love painful flashbacks, but let's watch one, shall we?

"Hey Jeff what's up man?"
"Not much dude. Did you hear about Jace and Ali?"
"Yeah man, that's what I wanted to talk to you about."
"What?"
"Um, he doesn't really like her man."
"What? I'm confused."
"He's on a dare man. He was dared to ask her out, then when she fell for him, break her heart."
"What?! Who's idea was this?"
"Carter's."
"I knew I hated him."
"He's got two weeks to make her fall and then," Then Alex took his hand and fake slashed his throat.
"That ass! I swear to god I am going to get him for this."
"I'm sorry man. Are you going to tell her?"
"Nope. I'm going to hit him where it hurts."
"You're going to kick him in the balls!"
"No. I have a plan."
"Nice. Can I know?"
"No. You'll repeat it."
"Whatever man. But it has to be good."
"Alright."

See. You'd hate that bastard now too. Yeah I have a plan. And it involves telling my best friend.
When the final bell of the day rang, I waited outside for bell for five minutes until I saw her walk out to me.
"Hey Jeff. What did you want to talk about?" I looked beside Ali and noticed Jace, holding onto her arm.
"Uh, I need to tell you by myself. No Jace around?"
"Whatever you want to say to her Jeff, you can say infront of me." Have I ever mentioned how much I hate Jace.
"Actually no I can't Come on Ali." I went to drag her by her arm but she turned around and kissed Jace quickly.
"Bye babe."
"Bye."
I pulled Ali over to the swings we always rode just for the hell of it.
"Ali, I have a plan."
"To what?"
"He doesn't really like you Ali."
"Are you jealous or something?"
"Ali listen to me. Alex came up to me today and told me that Carter dared Jace to get you to fall in love with him and then break up with you."
"Really?" Her voice showed hatred and her eyes showed everything the devil himself could do.
"Yeah. I'm sorry Ali."
"It's fine Jace. What's the plan?"
