I'm about to reveal where Waldo is when I'm suddenly shook awake. I come face to face with Sungyeol. "Hey, it's time for school." he says. I get up and rub the sleep from my eyes. 6:45am. Still have time for a quick shower. "Uhm..." I cautiously begin,"May I use the bathroom?" Sungyeol beams at me and nods. He steps back to give me space to stand up and leads the way to the bathroom. Sungyeol opens the door to let me in. Suddenly we hear a yelp from inside the bathroom. I quickly cover my eyes and Sungyeol quickly shuts the door. Sungyeol nervously laughs. "Sorry about that. Hoya always forgets to lock the door." I nod. Hoya... it's a very familiar name... Sungyeol raps his fist on the door. "Yah! Hoya! Hurry up! Someone else needs to use the bathroom!" A few seconds later the door opens, and I come face to face with one of the closest friends I have before moving to Gyeonggi. "Oppa!" I shout. Hoya gives me a look then beams at me. "Laurie! How've you been?" He pulls me into a hug and I hug him back. Sungyeol looks at me then at Hoya then back at me. "I'll skip the introduction, then." he mumbles. I pull away from Hoya's hug and start to enter the bathroom. Hoya holds my shoulders and says,"Don't forget your clothes." I look at him, embarrassed, and Hoya winks at me. Back when Hoya and I lived in Busan, Hoya always stops by my house in the morning to help me get ready for school. One of my great flaws is that I'm a scatterbrain, and Hoya knows that. It's great that he's here to help me when I forget something in the morning, like my clothes, or towel, or soap. Call it fate, destiny, or pure chance, but I'm happy that I ended up living with one of my best childhood friends.
I finish drying my hair when I hear an annoyed cry. I walk out of the bathroom to see what's happening. As I peak out, I see Sungjong entering one of the rooms shouting, "Hyung! Wake up already! Do you want us to be late again? Hyung!" I tiptoe to the room Sungjong and find all the other members in the room as well. Hoya, Sungyeol, Sungjong, and Woohyun are all crowded around Myungsoo, Sungkyu, and Dongwoo who are all sprawled on the futons in the room. Dongwoo's shirt is crumpled up to his chest, revealing his torso, Sungkyu and Myungsoo are lying in a fetus position facing each other. Sungyeol is kicking Dongwoo's side, Woohyun is trying to pull Sungkyu up to a sitting position, only to fail every time, Sungjong and Hoya are coaxing to Myungsoo to wake up and get ready for school. Seriously, how can they sleep when they very well know they have to be punctual in school to be able to graduate? I stomp in the room, making the four awake members give way and give me astonished and curious looks. "Hey!" I yell. Sungkyu quickly opens his eyes and sits up, obviously surprised at my yell. I stalk over to him. "You're the leader right?" Sungkyu slowly nods, his bewildered face showing he hasn't recovered from my yell. "Then why are you the one sleeping in?" I chide. Sungkyu pouts and rubs the sleep of his eyes. "Kids," he sleepily says,"time to wake up, kids." Myungsoo and Dongwoo still lay on their futons, unfazed by my yell and Sungkyu's coaxing. I walk over to Myungsoo and kick his back. Myungsoo mumbles,"Five more minutes..." I roll my eyes and squat beside Myungsoo. I pinch Myungsoo's ear and pull it up. "Ow ow ow..." Myungsoo sleepily says, his eyes half-open. "Listen here, Myungsoo, you better wake up this instant." Myungsoo groans, but does not budge. "Do you wanna graduate college or not?"
"I wanna."
"Then get up."
"Five more minutes."
"They already passed."
"Five more minutes."
"By the time they passed you'll be repeating college."
Myungsoo finally gives up and sits up, blinking hard a few times to keep his eyes open. I put my hands on my hips. "Get ready for school. Now." I order. Myungsoo obediently stands up and leaves the room to go to the bathroom. The other members look on, baffled. I give a large huff and walk over to Dongwoo. Hoya whispers,"Be careful. Dongwoo hates being woken up." I give a quick nod and advance towards him. "Dongwoo, wake up. Please, wake up now." Dongwoo's eyes flutter open almost immediately, and I give a sigh of relief. Thank God I didn't have to handle him roughly to wake him up. He sits up groggily and rubs his eyes. Sungkyu finally snaps out of his astonishment, "Dongwoo ah, go get ready for school." Dongwoo sleepily nods and gets up. As he walks out of to room, the remaining members look at me, their eyes and mouths wide open in wonder. I shrug and nervously laugh. Hoya ruffles my hair and walks out chuckling and the other members follow. I exit the room last. Suddenly, I hear Myungsoo gaily shout, "Oh my God, it's bacon!"
What a way to start the morning.
