Emily left for the testing room two hours ago, with a smile on her pretty tan face. Derek had waited in his room for any word on her results, but his impatience got the best of him, so he walked around the agency. Nodding greetings to familiar faces and stopping to talk to a few of them had kept him from marching into the testing room and seeing Emily.
"I'm worried about you, Emily." He mumbled to no one in particular as he walked passed her room. He stops when he hears Summer's small meow from the other side of the door. Opening it cautiously, he peered inside and saw Emily on her bed.
"Emily," he rushes over to her and places his hand on her back in comfort, "Are you okay?"
She looks up at him with disappointment in her eyes as she rubs her tattoo over and over, as if she is trying to erase the mark from her body.
"I'm more than okay, Derek. I'm absolutely perfect. I passed my test with flying colors, but I'm upset that I am leaving this place and well,you."
"Me? Why me?" He questions her with curiosity, "I'm just your mentor."
She pulls him into a fierce hug as she whispers, "Well, you're a great mentor and I did learn everything I know from you. Thank you for everything. Europe won't be able to handle me. I'm going to miss you."
He grins at her and touches the tattoo on her wrist. She looks up at him as his fingers trace the numbers
"I'm going to miss you too," he bites his lip gently as he stares into her brown eyes, "The place won't be the same. I know I won't."
"I'll be back in no time, Derek." She pulls him down and kisses his cheek.
"Promise?"
"Promise," she answers, "My flight leaves in 2 hours, so I better be off."
"Right. Um, well, good luck. Remember that you must alwa-." He is interrupted by her completing his sentence.
"Always look behind you and trust your gut. Confidence is key."
He opens to door for her as she leaves, "That it is, Em."
"Goodbye, Derek."
"I'll see you soon, Emily."
