Kylie's POV
"Hey baby," Aubrie said as we entered Sammy's house. She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his right arm's bicep.
"Hey," Sammy said quickly, his voice sounding like it was desperate.
"What's wrong, Sam?" Aubrie asked, all of the sweetness going out of her voice.
"I have been having... dreams. Like scary ones too. It was like part of it was real, but then the last part wasn't. I can't remember ever falling asleep, so it's like my life is just this one big nightmare," Sammy said like he had rehearsed it before.
"You probably just had a nightmare, babe," Aubrie said. I tried to keep quiet for a while so I could hear what they were about.
"No. It's like every night. And it's not just one dream, it's like five per night. And they're getting scarier too. Like one was about a black ghostly thing sitting on my bed and saying this weird word over and over." Sammy said.
"Hexxafus," I whisper to myself.
"What?" Sammy asked me almost immediately.
"What? Nothing," I said, looking away.
"No, no, you definitely said something. What'd you say?"
"Hexxafus?" I said, making it more of a question than an answer.
Sammy just kind of stared at me.
"That's what the shadow said in my dream."
Aubrie and Ciara looked confused and said, "What?" at the same time.
"That was exactly what the shadow said in my dream. It sat on my bed and said that I opened the wronged door or something and then said 'Hexxafus' like three times," Sammy said.
I closed my eyes, starting to feel dizzy. I gripped onto Ciara's arm, not wanting to fall over and said, "I'm gonna be sick," before I fell to the floor, passed out.
