He had been walking for quite a while and honestly was getting tired. Then he began to hear voices up ahead. He thought of wanting to get up to his room undetected and the bracelt gently tugged him in a new direction. The small chain Bill created was good at its job, as he had managed to get their without anyone bothering him. He put away his phone and cane, flopping onto his bed. He was tired, not in the physical sence, but emotionally. He felt incredibly bad about the entire thing, and fell asleep after a few minutes of laying in self pity. He didn't dream, and Bill didn't talk to him in the dream dimension. He hoped Bill would, but it ended up to be wishful thinking. He had napped for probably a few hours before being worked up by a door slamming open. As he pushed himself up and yawned he heard footsteps running closer.
"Dipper!" Mabel's voice rang out as arms wrapped around him. Her face nuzzled into Dipper's chest as she cried. "I'm so sorry, Dipper! I wasn't thinking, I shouldn't have said that. I know your not faking it or anything! I was just stressed out and I felt like everyone was against me, I'm sorry that you got the backlash! I'm sorry!" She wailed, holding onto him as if he might disappear. Half way through he short rant Dipper had hugged her back.
"It's fine Mabel, it's in the past. Just...don't let it be a regular thing OK?" He responded while rubbing comforting circles on her back.
"I promise! It won't happen ever again," She pulled away a bit. "Who where you with?"
"A dude named Bill, he was super nice. He bought me a bunch of clothes and stuff."
"Bill...who? Whats his last name?"
"Jones, said his parents where moving somewhere else and let him keep the place." As the lie fell of his lips he herd a small sigh of relief from his sister. Something told him she was expecting a different answer. "Why is his last name important?"
"Nothing!" She squeaked out, far to fast for it to be truthful.
"Mabel..."
"I-... It's not important."
"Mabel. Be serious. I know something is up. Tell me or I'll find out some other way."
"No you can't! Its- god you'll think I'm crazy..."
"Try me."
"Ok... Gravity falls is surrounded by a forest of mythical creatures."
"Yes. It is." Even now he could hear the beasts. They had been louder during his walk, but now was not the time to contemplate the beats that my have stalked him in the forest.
"And remember Norm? He was a pile of gnomes! They wanted me as thier queen, but I fended them off. The only reason I know about all this is that I found a book in the woods, and its like a jornal thing, it got all kinds of good info about the creatures. There's a mega evil Demon, named Bill Cipher, he's out to destroy gravity falls! He makes rotten deals with people and destroys whatever is in his way, that's why the last name was important, I wanted to make sure you weren't caught up in something dangerous." Dipper was surprised that her book cast Bill in such a negative light. Bill never bothered making a deal with Dipper. He wasn't quite sure if Bill even mentioned deals earlier.
As Mabel kept ranting about everything in the forest he tried to wrap his head around Bill being the bad guy. The more he tried the less he could actually think of anything bad about him. He was only doing his job. It's not his fault that he exists the way he does. After chatting with Mabel about everything that happened at the shack in the few days he had left they went down to dinner where grunkle Stan seemed both surprised and ecstatic about his return. After dinner Dipper told Mabel about his trip to the fair and insisted that it was important that they went sometime and rode the rides. She didn't seem as excited about the idea as he was.The next few days there where very similar to the first few. People where almost overly nice, which really only happened when giving first impressions. Dipper was of the opinion that they just didn't want him to disappear again. Mabel had tried to convince everyone that he wouldn't, but they doubted her seeing as she was the cause of the disappearance. No one knew that grunkle Stan was a factor also. Dipper was slightly offended because of how much they babied him. Bill had had faith in his competence, but Mabel would shower him and tell him where everything was, always saying to be careful of something. He had just now realized how little faith was in him. They belived he couldn't do anything. He allowed it, although he wished Bill would hurry up and talk to him so that he eventually could get back to washing himself without help.
It had been a week without Bill, and Dipper figured out that if he wanted to make amends he'd have to seek Bill out himself. He knew that the bracelet would be the most helpful thing in getting to the house. After that it was just waiting for Bill and hoping that he'd come around. That and what would he say. I love you? Probably. I'm sorry that I screwed it up? That too, what does someone say to an immortal, maybe, dream dream who you broke the heart of? It's not as simple as hey, I love you. Let me hug you, you floating triangle. What to say? When to go? Probably at night, when everyone was asleep. He'd pay attention to the sounds of the forest and have the bracelet give him the best path.He didn't have much of a plan, but he had a goal. It was either do, or cry.
Dipper was never much of a crier.
