Niall's POV
Paul took me to the Zeus cabin to settle down. Since I've been claimed as the Son of Zeus, this is where I was going to be staying.
My cabin was the biggest and bulkiest cabin out of all of them. It looked like a white marble box with huge columns at the front. There was also a bronze door with holograms with lightning bolts streaking down.
I looked around inside. I turned to Paul and he nodded his head.
I saw a dome ceiling that was decorated with moving mosaics with cloudy skies and lightning bolts. I could hear rumbles of thunder throughout the whole cabin.
I saw different golden statues of eagles. There was also a huge statue of Zeus in the middle of the cabin.
Besides that, there wasn't any furniture . The whole cabin looked like a bank.
"Welcome home," I muttered to myself as I sat down on the nearest bunk.
Then I heard someone call out my name. "Niall?" The voice called out. I turned to the doorway. I saw Paul standing there with a duffel bag.
I smiled. "Hey Paul. What's with the duffel bag?" I asked. "It's filled with some of your clothes and personal belongings. I packed one for you and all the boys just in case something like this happened," Paul replied.
I took the duffel bag and set it on my bunk. Paul walked over and sat down next to me.
"How was your first day Niall?" He asked as I pulled out some of my clothes. "Okay I guess. It's a lot to process. I still can't believe the boys and I were just having a concert earlier," I replied as I took out more clothes.
I saw my favorite snapbacks, tanks, t-shirts, and shoes. I was surprised Paul packed a thing or two that was suppose to be sitting in my room on the tour bus.
I picked up a picture frame that contained a picture of me, my mum, and my long lost brother, Greg. We were sitting on the couch in a living room. My mum was holding me and Greg close while we all smiled.
I was probably six or seven when this photo was taken. And Greg...he looked like he was fifteen. He had to be.
It was my favorite picture. It just spoke to me at my hardest times.
"Do you remember Greg?" Paul suddenly asked me. "A little. I don't remember doing anything special with him or having special memories," I replied.
"Do you know what happened to Greg?" Paul asked me again. I shook my head. "No. My mum said she'd tell me once I was old enough to take it...so I wouldn't take it as hard," I replied.
Paul put his hand on my shoulder. "I think you're old enough to know," he said.
I rearranged myself so I was more comfortable.
"So what really happened?" I asked. Paul sighed. "Hades. Hades happened. Once Hades and Poseidon found out Zeus broke the oath, they were furious. It bothered Poseidon for awhile, but he knew it was better not to get involved. There were ancient laws they're restrained against. So he left it alone.
But Hades was a different story. He wanted you and Greg dead. So he sent his worse monsters to your home in Mulligar. Once Greg saw them, he knew it was time. He knew Zeus and Chiron trained him for this moment.
You have to understand, Niall, that he loved you. He loved you too much to watch his innocent, vulnerable, seven year old brother die. So he sent you and your mum to the basement while he fought the monsters alone.
Your mum tried to convince him that it was too much for a fifteen year old boy to fight all the monsters alone, but he said he would die trying, for you and your mum.
