After the rebellion, they split the Capitol into different areas. They call us Section 4- there are 12 overall. Just like there are the twelve districts. A boy and a girl from each district to die. Twenty-three deaths of innocent children; children who never had a chance to actually live their life. The wicker globes stand ominously on the ramshackle wooden platform, just waiting to reveal my fate. I get my fingerprint stamped, go in to the roped-off area for girls, and wait. I don't believe what's happening. This is the reason they fought against us isn't it? For no more pointless deaths? Now look. Look what they're doing to us. And why? Simple. Revenge.

Effie Trinket steps on stage, looking plainer than ever. Looks have changed so much in the Capitol now- only the rich can actually afford to look how they used to. Some of us didn't plaster on makeup every morning before anyone saw us, or have surgery to look like some weird animal. My family have never done that, and we never will. We're too poor now. Too poor to look how we used to, to dress how we used to, to be respected like we used to. Even Effie Trinket has changed, even though she doesn't have to, like the rest of us. I think she's changed to blend in to the Others. Her hair is actually a light brown, and she is slightly brown from living in the other districts. Her clothes are still normal though. Brightly coloured, matched to her lipstick- a violent pink.

Effie trots towards the microphone, rapidly blinking her relatively normal, long black lashes. She actually looks nervous, for the first time ever. She tells the story of rebellion, and then I just start disappearing into the misty fog in my mind again. I'm snapped back to reality when she announces "and now, we shall decide the tributes from Section 4 who will go forth to the Capitol Games."

She walks to the wicker basket on the left of her, and hovers her hand above it, looking unwilling. Then suddenly, she reaches in and snatches out a name, unfolds it and reads:

"Rose Snow"
