LILLY'S POV

The next day was no different from the day before. The jocks were by my locker, the same boy approached me but a little differently this time. He didn't seem like he was trying so hard to be cool. That was a start.

He walked up to me while all his friends seemed to be leaving. He almost seemed nervous. Nervous? Of all people, him being nervous to talk to me? Ha, that's a joke.

"Hey, sorry about yesterday. I really just wanted to talk to you but Kylie, my sister, rudely interrupted. My name is Peter by the way," I almost felt sorry. My first impression on him might have been that I was some rude new girl who wanted nothing more but to be brought back to where I came from. But then again, I can be rude when provoked.

"That's fine, I'm Lilly," I let my eyes look up at him and smiled in a friendly way then closed my locker. I was ready to walk away as the bell rang when he spoke again.

"Meet me here after school, Lilly. I'd like to ask you something. See you later," he swiftly turned around with a grin on his face. The thought of him needing to meet me here after school had me thinking throughout the day. I wondered all kinds of questions that he might ask.

It was 5th period, time for lunch. I went to the nearby pizzeria yesterday since it was nice out but it was pouring out today. As I made my way to the cafeteria I started getting nervous again. The cafeteria was packed, and I still haven't made a friend. This will be extremely embarrassing if there isn't at least one table I wouldn't feel awkward sitting at.

The second I walked in I felt all eyes on me. I almost instantly felt like screaming out "Never seen a new girl before?!" but no, I rather not cause a scene on my second day at a new school. I looked around to see any familiar faces, but all I saw was people who made side comments to their friends in the halls when I passed by. I don't get these people. It's like they've never seen a new face around. Just when I was feeling more than hopeless, I was caught off guard by some friendly looking girl.

"Hey, I heard you're the new girl. I'm Julie, what's your name?" she seemed awfully nice. That's a change. She had pitch black hair and light brown eyes. She had that bad girl look even though her personality was the complete opposite.

"I'm Lilly," I said with a genuine grin. "It seems like there's never been a new girl around here before," she giggled and took me by the arm.

"Well, Lilly, you'd be right. To be honest, all everyone's been talking about is how they either want you or want to be you. That's all anyone's been talking about," I smiled. I really never thought much of my looks.

She took me to a table full of faces I didn't recognize. They all looked genuinely happy, conversing about things I knew nothing about. I heard some of them speak about some art show going on in a couple of months. Others spoke about popular TV shows and magazines. They all seemed likeable. I looked around the cafeteria once more just incase I'd see people I didn't see before.

I saw Peter sitting at the same table as his sister, Kylie. It was the typical jock/cheerleader group of table, where they had the annoyingly obnoxious guys having a mini food fight and the girls laughing about it. Gross. They looked like a bunch of overly grown five year olds.

I let my eyes drift from that table and roam around the cafeteria. The place was so diverse. Everyone was so different from one another yet that didn't let that stop them from talking to people that looked like complete opposites from them. It was nice.

I let out a slight gasp when I spotted him. He walked in the cafeteria awfully late by himself. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. He looked stunning the way he walked, almost like he owned the place. If I didn't know this place any better (not that I even do know this place) I'd think he did indeed own this place. I stared at him a little more letting my eyes wander around his whole physique. His muscles stood out of his grey T-shirt and his hair was perfectly messy. I noticed how beautifully his eyes stood out of his face as he looked right at me.
