-The First Day-

-Trott's POV-

I stir awake, wiping at my eyes automatically.

They're, damp?

I can hear someone calling my name.

I sit up, gaining myself a painful arm ache.

I groan.

The doors pushed open and my mother stands there, "Chris.."

I stare at her, with my tired eyes.

She doesn't bother to ask me if I'm okay, because she knows I'll turn the question back on her.

She sighs, "it's your first day today."

I nod, "yeah, thank you."

"Ross is also coming by to walk with you." She informs me before leaving the room.

I pull myself up, tugging out some clothes within the cupboard.

I settle on a blue t-shirt and black jeans.

After I've done changing, I go downstairs to the kitchen, greeting my mum again.

"Your lunch is in your bag and your new text books are with it. You should be set." She insists.

I nod, taking a piece of toast from the plate on the table.

She stops what she's doing and faces me, and sighs, "honestly Chris, behave, please."

There's a knock on the door.

She signals me to go get it, "I love you.

I grab my bag and swing it over my shoulder.

"You too." I whisper and then walk away to open the door.

I swing the door open to be confronted by an energetic Ross.

He pulls me out the door into a friendly hug.

We then start walking.

It's silent most of the time until Ross ever feels the need to strike up a conversation.

"We're nearly there." Ross huffs.

I don't reply, I feel no need to.

As we turn a corner, a large building stands there, buzzing with lots of people.

"We're reached our destination, hell." Ross says in a creepy voice.

I smile.

"Alex should be inside, so we better hurry." He says jogging up the steps and into the building.

I follow him.

I push open the doors, revealing almost gob-smacking interior decorating. It's a crazy thing to care about but I do.

The ceilings are high, the walls are white and the floor is a nice birch wood. There's small square tablets, complemented by one or two chairs.

As I pull my eyes away back to Ross, there stands Alex in front of us, distracting me again.

"Welcome, to your new college." Alex says welcomingly.

I notice a boy standing beside him, maybe older by a year or two but with a inviting smile on his face.

He has brown, curly hair, brown eyes and like Alex, he's growing a stubble. He's not that tall but he's not exactly short.

He notices me staring and takes the opportunity to introduce himself, holding out his hand, he speaks, "welcome, I'm Lewis, and hopefully we can hang out a bit and be great friends as these two are also my friends, but I hope you enjoy this college and all the people within it."

I take his hand, taking in also everything he said, "I'm Chris, I don't mind being friends."

"That's great!" Lewis, happily says.

I guess I've gained a friend. That's good, right?
