The curse of Pine Ridge Lake.

Prologue.

I look around me. Nothing but darkness.

I look harder. I see a small light. I naturally went toward it. I was running on and on. I felt like this was never going to end. T hen, as I was running, a man stepped in the darkness. I stopped dead in my tracks and looked at him with a scared look on my face. He had a mask on like no other. It was like implanted on his face, and it had mold hanging from the bottom. In his left hand was a giant machete. It was blood stained, and it had moss all over it, as though he and the blood stained knife had been underground.

"Who are you"? I shouted.

He didn't answer.

"Are you deaf"? I shouted again.

He ignored me again. But this time, he raised his machete slowly, and as if I didn't see this one coming, he swiped his machete with great force. Then, next thing i knew, I lay there, dying, slowly bleeding out. He walked away, his machete more blooded than ever. Then everything went black, and I lay there, dead in a pool of my blood.

Chapter one

I woke up with a start. Someone was at the door. Another ring told me that they were impatient. Another ring rang. "Coming", I shouted. I got up and slipped my slippers on. At least they were nice and cozy. And I started dragging my feet to the door.

"What"? I said with a moan.

Nothing was there. Nothing but a dusty old letter. I picked it up and examined it. It was addressed to me, so I knew it was for me. Oh yeah, how rude of me. I forgot something. My name is Allison. Allison PineRidge. Yeah, that is where Pine Ridge got it's name. Anyway, the letter was from my parents before they died (they died when I was four. I live with grandma). It gave me directions. Directions to a place that was smudged out in the ink. As if by coincidence, my friends pulled up.

"Hay whats up"? They asked as if they knew something was up.

I should probably tell them there names. There was Jack, Heather, Jennifer, James, chuck, and you

all know me. Allison.

"What cha got there", James asked.

"Nothing, I just got up with some angry person ringing my doorbell. And when I went to investigate, there was this letter on the ground. My parents are apparently my parents owned a big summer camp, and they want me to try and spiff it all up. But I'm not really sure I want to", I said.

"There is no question about it. Go get packed and lets go", Heather said.

She was always the bossy kind.

It took me while to think of the positives, but then I thought that it could be fun.

"Oh, okay", I said. "But let me take a shower and brush my teeth"? I said.

"Well we got to go shopping, chances are there won't be any food. We will be back at noon", said Heather.

And they all got back in the van and drove away.

When I got out of the shower and brushed my teeth, I went to my room, I had to sneak because my grandmother was still asleep even after all that noise.

She was a very strong sleeper, as you can see. So when I walked into my room, I went into my closet and got my purple suitcase my parents gave me a month before they died. After I packed my bag, I remembered I needed to pack my tooth brush and tooth paste, so I went back up and got them. While I was up there, I decided to write a note saying where I went to, and how I wasn't killed or kidnapped. So I went to my desk and got a piece of lined paper. After that I went down the stairs, grabbed my suitcase, and went outside to wait for them.

It took them forty five minutes for them to get there, and when they got there, the van was full of food, so I had to sit in the back with James. Yes, it was really fun. I've always had thing for him, and he always had a thing for me, but we never got a chance to date because we were always nervous and it was awkward when ever we are around each other, and I go tense and I'm pretty sure he gets tense as well.

"So, what did your grandma say when she found out", James asked.

"She hasn't gotten the note I left her. So, I don't know", I replied.

"Okay", James replied.
