Chapter three.
I woke up with the sound of snoring in the tent next to me. "Ugh", I said to myself. I figured it wasn't going to stop anytime soon, so I got up. The tent was so big that I couldn't find my unicorn slippers. It's not weird at all. Yeah, maybe I'm 16 years old. But unicorns are awesome. Anyway, I put them on and realized that James was gone. Kind of panicking, I unzipped the tent flap door and stepped into the nice crisp air.
"Morning sleepy head", I heard from the right.
I looked over and saw James. His beautiful dark hair was shinning right in the morning sunlight.
"You startled me", I said, man what a stupid thing to respond to.
He chuckled and looked at what he was doing. I was pretty sure I looked funny in my starburst pajamas.
"Want some breakfast", He asked.
"Sure, What is it", I replied.
"Waffles", He said with a beautiful smile.
"Hey, did you take a shower", I asked.
"Yeah, the water still runs here", He replied smoothly.
'Oh good. I will take one later" I said with a smile.
"You need a partner", He asked with a laugh.
"Yeah, sure", I said jokingly.
We both laughed.
After I ate a helping of waffles, I asked him where the showers were.
"There all the way over there. Turn left, and there they are", James said.
"Could you show me", I asked.
"Sure", He replied.
He put down what he was doing and showed me where it was.
"Thanks", I said.
"No problem", He said back.
I gave him a smile and he returned it with a air kiss. I walked in there. It was surprisingly tidy in there. The floor was a white tile with little purple flowers in a corner. The wall was white with the same purple flowers as with the floor. Each shower was a stall type with the curtain a light purple. I'm not really sure why but I had a feeling that they had a thing for purple. So I walked in the shower. It was really cool. There was already shampoo and conditioner and body soap in the shower. I picked them up. These were store bought a few days ago. James must have put them in for me. He was so sweet to me. I took off all my cloths, and started the shower up. It took a while for the warm water to return. It eventually did. I started with my hair with the the shampoo, then a big amount of conditioner, and you all know what comes next. Washing my body. So I took the soap and my sponge I had in my bag (Yes, I brought my bag) I took it out and washed myself down. When all the soap was off my body, I washed the conditioner out. After that, I turned off the water, then went over to the bath tub that sat in the left corner. Yes I was camping, I still have to shave. So I took out my purple razor and started the bath water. First I had to shave my under arms, so I got the razor wet and got the soap and before you know it, both my arm pits where smooth. Next my legs. And then after that I brushed my teeth. After that I had to get dressed. I went into my bag and got a pair of panties. I took off my robes and slipped on the panties. Next I got a pair of skin tight jeans and a short shirt. After that I packed everything up and I went out.
I stepped out in the cool air. I looked around. Nothing but trees. Something caught my eye. It was a big man. Not a normal one. He had a mask, a rotting mask. Like it was in his skin. He had something in his hands. It was shimmering. A cell phone? No it wasn't a cell phone. Was it a knife? He raised it a little more. It was a machete. A big machete. It looked like it had blood on it. He started to come to me. And that was my cue to run. So I launched myself towards the camp. Not putting back anything.
"Guys, guys", I screamed.
I looked back. He was chasing me. I sped up. I don't think I ever ran that fast in my life. Except in that four mile race in sixth grade. I won 2nd place. So I imagined I was in that race, and what do you know, I was more than half way to camp.
"Help", I shouted.
James didn't hear me. When I was a few paces to safety, I heard whistling and a loud chopping sound right next to me. I looked behind me and stopped. The killer stopped and right next to me was the machete in a rotting tree next to me. With out thinking, I grabbed the machete and ran the rest of the way to camp.
I ran in there screaming.
"What the heck happened to you", James screamed.
"What is in your hand", He demanded.
"Th-th-there is a killer. He chased me from the showers to here", I gasped.
"I have proof", I added, and raised the machete I had in my hand.
"What is going on here", Chuck asked with everyone else.
"There is a killer in these woods", I said before James had a chance to.
"What", Jack demanded.
"Yeah, he chased me with this", I said holding up the machete.
"Oh geese", He said.
"What are we going to do", Jennifer trembled.
"We have to get out ta here", Me and James said together.
We looked at each other and blushed.
"We don't have a way to leave", I said.
"Lets stay and if we see the killer again, then we will go. For all we know, she could be playing a prank on us. She could have got that machete from the storage room", Jack said.
"Yeah, I so am pretending. After Heather mysteriously disappears, I would be the one to pretend", I said sarcastically.
He looked at me with a mad expression in his face.
"Okay, this is what we will do. Since we have no way to leave, we will have to be very careful. Nobody leaves except in a group. Now Allison, Jennifer, Chuck and me will go to the van and get as much defense as we can get if there is a real killer", James said.
"Wait, what about me", Asked Jack.
"You have to stay here and watch camp", James replied.
"Oh, okay", He said back.
James nodded toward me and the rest who were coming, and we started to the van. On our way to the van, me and James were in the back. He reached for my hand and I reached back. We held hands all the way to the van. When we got there, James went to the trunk and opened it. I was surprised they left it unlocked.
In a few minutes, we all met in the front of the van.
"Got everything", James asked.
"Yes", We all said together.
He nodded and we started back. We ended in the front this time. I was pretty disappointed. But I could survive with not holding hands this time.
It seemed longer on the way there because I wasn't holding onto his warm hands. When we stepped in the camp, I wanted to pass out. It was devastating, the tents were on their side, and worst of all, blood was all over the place. And Jack was gone. When Jennifer saw the place, she fell to the ground and started wailing.
