Are We Really Related?

Looking at my hands again, in another bed. I yelled out a sigh of stress. What the hell man, why am I excluded out of everything? "I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE. LET ME IN WITH THE ACTION ALREADY!!!"

"Jan, calm down!" Wave yelled back.

"I'm ok. But seriously, why? Tatsumi.... you're the most innocent person I know." I can't understand. No, I'm just confused. Which is the right path for me? Is it Night Raid after all? I have so many questions. And how am I related to an annoying brat like him? He's getting on my nerves. "Uhh, Jan? You just spaced out for a while." I glared at him and yelled,"I'll kill you!"

"WHAT DID I DO?!"

Time Skip

Everyone left the room since I wanted some private time. I started thinking about my brother again. Then out of nowhere, I heard,"awww, you're thinking about your big bro, little sis!" He stared at me in confusion since I kept a straight face. "I hid my aura so you couldn't have known I was there so why aren't you surprised like always?"

"Because you've done it to me too many times for me to be startled anymore..." I replied. He let out a sigh and was about to say something when I interrupted,"can you tell me something? How are we even related?"

"To tell you the truth, I don't know. Well, it was along time ago, when I was seven. Our mum was ripped apart by an A-Classed Danger Beast and our Dad got killed by trying to save her from death. I was looking around for firewood and came across the Danger Beast feasting on the bodies. Terrified, I ran away, back to the village asking everyone I could find to help. But no one stopped by and helped. I came across Najenda who took me in and trained me to be part of the Imperial police. I was loyal enough to join Night Raid with her when she told me the reason. I followed her till the end and we have been doing good to the world ever since, Night Raid I mean."

"And where exactly am I in the story?"

"Well .... you aren't."

"But we're siblings right? So why was I not in your life?"

"I did remember mother saying that she lost her second child in the ocean once and that I had lost a sister but I never new what you looked like or anything about you. Your name was... I think it was Akumu before you gained a new name. I don't know most of the details since our parents were lost at an early age. I joined Night Raid because I knew it was the right path for me. So do me a favour, please. As a little sister."

"Ok, fine. What is it?" I sighed. "Even if you are my enemy."

"Help us free Tatsumi. Help us get him out of the mess he's in." He begged.

"Look big brother, you're asking for the impossible." I sighed. "I'm sorry but if I do that, I'll be sure to be tortured near to death. No one knows the real truth to my Imperial Arm. Everyone who has no idea about the truth would think this weapon is the one to keep your youth for life and be free to do what you want. It's not true..... ever since I touched Ryūketsu, I've been struggling to break free. But I'll give you good news, I will protect Tatsumi with my life till the very end. So I'm not gonna let him die any time sooner."

"Thank you." He bowed to me. I felt embarrassed and said,"l-lift your head, a fellow comrade should not have to beg their teammates to save another one." He looked at me in surprise so I just smiled.

Time Skip

"It's been a while, Tatsumi. So you're with Night Raid. I had all kinds of things I wanted to say to you, but they all left me the moment I saw your face." I heard Esdeath speaking to someone, most likely Tatsumi so I stopped and hid my aura so she wouldn't find out I was here. "Aren't you miserable? Come and join me instead. Then I can absolve you of everything you've done." I heard a hand slap then Tatsumi replied,"I have no intention of joining you."

I heard the bars on the cell break and drop to the floor. It made me react so I quickly peeked my head around the corner. Esdeath walked towards Tatsumi holding a sharp ice stick at Tatsumi's neck. "If you refuse, death is the only alternative." I clenched onto my sword quietly waiting for the right moment to strike. Tatsumi is the one who changed my life for good. I will protect him with my life. "Then so be it! I'm fully prepared to die!" She walked closer to him making me step in a little more. She just hugged him making me let out a small sigh of relief. I already know that I can't beat someone like Esdeath, she's way too strong.

"I'm not asking you to betray your allies. Just stay by my side."

"Why do you feel so strongly about me?"

"Because you have stolen my heart. Tatsumi, be with me." He pushed her away and yelled," never! I don't want to be with someone who spreads destruction!"

"I see. Then I suppose there's no other choice...." I reacted again and walked closer. "I will perform the execution myself. Let's see how strongly you wish to live." I couldn't take it anymore but I knew I shouldn't Butt in. Esdeath left the dungeon and I walked up to Tatsumi. "Stop trying to convince me!" He yelled without knowing who was approaching him. "No Tatsumi, convince me instead." He looked up at me in surprise. "I promise, I will put my life on the line to save you whenever you need me. I'm prepared to die, protecting you. I'm not going to let anyone kill you. I promise Tatsumi, I will become free and join you, cause it's my last option. So don't worry, your life will not end, not on my watch."

Time Skip

"Citizens of the empire... it troubles me to hear that preposterous rumours are being spread about rebels taking down the empire. However, there is no need to lend your ears to such rabble-raising nonsense. Here, today, we will execute a member of the insurgents known as Night Raid, who have terrorized the public time and again! These conspirators are the vanguard of the rebel army that is responsible for our current state of chaos. They are villainous assassins who deceive innocent citizens for their own benefit. No one has the right to infringe upon the peaceful lives of the empire's citizenry. This empire and its capital are indestructible!"

"General Esdeath, I'll leave the execution to you."

"Prime minister, where are you going?" I asked.

"Well, it's lunchtime, you see. Let us be off, Your Majesty. I'll leave the rest to you three." General Esdeath walked towards Tatsumi in the middle of the arena holding a sharp Rapier. She went for her first attack but I knew she wouldn't hit Tatsumi and kill him that easily so I left it. Luckily I was right since she only used her weapon to tear a piece of cloth from Tatsumi's shirt. I could hear her using my Imperial Arm,"You said you were prepared to die for your cause, Tatsumi. If you are truly the man I thought you were, you'll show me your will to live." Suddenly a plasma beam almost hit Esdeath but she dodged it with ease. I looked up seeing a pinkish Loli girl stand on top of a pillar holding the Imperial Arm she calls Pumpkin. "Tatsumi, you moron!"
