It was Saturday morning. I woke up at around 9 o'clock to Matt and Vanessa. Their singing and music bellowing through the house. I swear I was ready to go down there and strangle the two of them.
I stormed down the stairs, feeling more than pissed for being woken up this way.
As I got to the kitchen I saw Matt and Vanessa dancing around the kitchen together and singing at the top of their lungs. Matt was swirling Vanessa around and they were singing to each other, laughing as they did so. My anger faded away slowly, they were just being stupid and in love and I was not in the mood of having a screaming fest with them this early in the morning.
"Emily!!!" Matt beamed, running over to me, wrapping his arms around me and spinning me around.
"What the hell has gotten into you" I laughed. Matt was never this cheerful so early I the morning.
"He's been like this all morning" Vanessa chimed in, rolling her eyes jokingly.
"Someone got laid" I said under my breath, letting out a giggle as I walked over to the refrigerator.
"None of that talk here" Matt jokingly reprimanded. "But I'm not denying anything" he said with a smirk, wiggling his eyebrows at Vanessa who went a bright red color.
"My god that's enough" I said, placing my hands over my ears. That was way too much information for my liking. "Oh look at that. I think I just lost my appetite " I said closing the fridge and walking out of the kitchen.
"Sorry Em" Vanessa said as I walked out. As soon as I was gone the music, singing and laughter resumed.
Walking up the stairs and into my room, I decided that it would be an appropriate time to start getting ready.
It's been a whole week since I'd seen Justin and since our fight. Between cheer practice, art classes, prom committee and yearbook committee, I have had no time to see him. He tried calling and texting but I wanted to sort this out in person and thought it would be better to apologize to him in person.
I decided to wear a pair on denim cuffed shorts, a plain grey cropped t-shirt, my plain white Adidas Superstars and a silver Rolex watch. The outfit itself was pretty simplistic but I thought it looked casual and cute, exactly what I was going for.
My hair was in a middle parting that messily gathered into a bun at my neck. Shorter pieces of hair framed my face. My makeup was also pretty simple, I wore a dewy foundation, mascara, did my eyebrows and also focused on a strong highlight.
Once I was ready I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs.
"I'm going to Justin's" I shouted as I headed out the door. I didn't get a response, all that was heard through the house was music and laughter coming from the kitchen.
I began my walk to Justin's house. The weather was a lot warmer and the sun was out. A soft breeze blew, not a single cloud marked the sky. I wasn't a big fan of the warm weather but it did feel good to have the warmth of the sun on my face for a change.
This past week was pretty rough to say the least. I missed Justin more than ever and I absolutely hated fighting with him. I lay in bed at night with him consuming my thoughts. What he said was so wrong but I also overreacted which was wrong on my part and to be honest, I was so over fighting with him. I got that familiar nervous feeling in the pit of my belly as I began to approach Justin's house.
Walking up his driveway and up the front steps of his house, thousands of thoughts and scenarios flew through my head.
Sure, I was probably overthinking the whole thing but that was just the way I was.
