The sunlight hit the back of my eyelids and I threw my blanket over my head.

Morning, already?

I stayed like that for a couple minutes until I decided to get up. The sun succeeded in waking my brain up, and now going back to sleep was no longer an option. Groaning to myself, I rolled out of bed and hopped in the shower. My body was slower to respond than usual today and my muscles felt strained. Even though I didn't do much physical training yesterday, the wear and tear from circulating my chakra too much was getting to me.

I closed my eyes as the water hit my face and pictured the little dead bird from yesterday. I was only able to get my chakra to effect the nervous system, but the slight tremor that reverberated through the bird in my memory was enough to make me smile. This was the first time that I'd actually felt motivated to achieve something on my own, to make myself stronger and to better the teams I was placed on.

As I turned the water off and stepped out of the tub, I caught a glimpse of the dark bags under my eyes and reluctantly decided to cease training for the day. As much as I wanted to perfect my new jutsu, I needed to give my body a break if I was going to stay healthy.

After making my way to the kitchen, I prepared a breakfast of strawberries and toast and sat at my table. It was as if eating ignited the hunger that I was unable to feel previously, and before I knew it I had to get up and make a second plate.

Just as I was about to sit down again, a knock came at my door. Subconsciously I furrowed my brow in confusion, not expecting anyone this early. I unlocked the door and pulled it open, revealing Kiba and Akamaru behind him. My confused expression turned to shock, and I mentally slapped myself for putting my pajamas back on after my shower.

"Kiba? What are you doing here?" I asked, stepping aside to allow both of them to enter. "C'mon in."

Kiba smiled, eyed my outfit for a second, and scratched the back of his head awkwardly as he entered, "Hey Asuna, sorry to just show up unannounced."

"It's alright," I said sitting back down in my chair. Akamaru followed me and placed his head in my lap. I smiled down at him and pet his head with one hand and stuffed a strawberry in my mouth with the other. "I've actually been meaning to check up on you," I said between bites. "I haven't seen you since... well you know."

He nodded and took a seat across from me at the table, "Yeah, sorry about that. Funerals make me uncomfortable, you know?"

"Yeah, I know how you feel," I said eating another berry. "But we did end up having a pretty good time afterwards. I like your friends a lot," I smiled and slid my fruit plate closer to Kiba. "Do you want one?"

"Sure," he said grabbing one. "So why are you still in your pj's?" He raised an eyebrow and smirked before popping the strawberry in his mouth, giving me a glimpse of his canines.

My face turned red and I looked down at my plaid pajama shorts and my matching long sleeve button up shirt. "I'm having a lazy day today," I confessed, looking back up at him. "I strained myself a lot yesterday in training."

He rested his chin in the palm of his hand and leaned forward on his elbows. "Well I guess I picked a good day to show up unannounced, huh? You're adorable right now."

My face proceeded to grow even more red and I looked away from his gaze, staring intensely at the two strawberries left on my plate. I was not prepared for this today.

"Hey, don't act all shy," Kiba chuckled, getting up from his seat and plopping down on my couch a few feet behind me. "Tell me about this training of yours that you did yesterday. What could possibly be too hard for the amazing girl with extra chakra on hand whenever she wants?"
