Cold

A Devin Sola Imagine

Word Count: 829

Warnings: fluff

You woke up really late, at almost 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Your nose was still stuffy and you coughed first thing. You had caught a cold a few days ago and it still hadn't went away. You turned and saw that your boyfriend Devin was gone. You frowned and went to grab your phone on the bedside table. On top of your phone there was a small piece of paper. You grabbed it and read what it said.

I went out to pick up breakfast. I will be back shortly. I love you, darling <3

-Your Ghost xoxo

You smiled, thinking that Devin would be back home soon and you guys could eat and cuddle together. You slowly sat up, rubbing the back of your neck. You coughed again, sneezing shortly after. You sighed, grabbing your box of tissues and your phone. You walked into your living room, plopping down on the couch and propping your feet on your coffee table. You grabbed the tv remote, deciding to watch some tv.

You started watching a slasher film to pass the time. Devin arrived back home a few minutes later, paper bags of food in his hands. You got up to help him, taking one of the bags from him. You both sat in your living room, eating and continuing to watch the slasher film. You both ate quickly, fulfilling your hunger. You kept sneezing and coughing, your cold refusing to calm down. You had already used up several tissue boxes within the past few days, you were getting really tired of this cold.

After eating, you and Devin sat on the couch together. Devin's arm was around your shoulders, your tissue box in your hands. You had taken the maximum amount of medicine for now, but you still felt awful. Devin rubbed your shoulder, sensing your tension. You let out a sigh and shifted in your seat. Devin stopped rubbing your shoulder and you felt bad; you didn't mean to irritate him.

"I'm sorry Dev, I'm just not feeling good. Please don't take anything that I do today personal, I love you so much." You say, guilt pouring out of your heart.

"It's alright, I understand. I love you too." Devin says, kissing your cheek.

The muscles in your face relaxed. You couldn't believe how sweet and caring Devin was being. You were even annoying the hell out of yourself all day, you wondered how he was putting up with all of it. You loved Devin dearly, you were very thankful to have someone as weird and wonderful as him in your life. You didn't know what you would do without him.

After a little while you had grown very tired. Devin offered to carry you upstairs to bed and you couldn't refuse. Devin carried you into your bedroom, gently setting you down on the bed. He kissed your forehead and tucked you in all snug, making sure that you were comfortable. You smiled and closed your eyes. Devin told you that he was going to the store to pickup some groceries. You, being extremely tired, did not even think about the fact that you had just picked up groceries the night before.

You fell asleep fast, your exhaustion quickly taking over. Devin went to the store, but he didn't buy groceries. He walked around the aisles, grabbing anything that he though would make you feel better. He ended up at the cash register with two shopping baskets full of special treats and gifts. Devin got you cupcakes, a teddy bear, a few scented candles, a beautiful bouquet of flowers and more!

When Devin arrived home, you were still sound asleep. He decided to cook something good for you to eat when you woke up. Devin set all of your gifts on the kitchen table, laying them out nicely. He then began cooking, the aroma of food soon filling the air. He made a delicious lunch with some of your favorite foods. Devin set the table and once everything was ready, he relaxed and waited for you to wake up.

You woke up only a few minutes after Devin had finished cooking. You yawned and sat up in your bed, stretching. You almost instantly smelled the food, your stomach rumbling seconds after. You slowly and sleepily got out of bed, putting on one of Devin's hoodies. You made your way downstairs and saw Devin watching tv.

You greeted Devin happily, smiling at him. The two of you then went into the kitchen and ate lunch together. Your cold had gotten a little bit better, you weren't sneezing and coughing as much anymore. You and Devin spent the entire day together, cuddling and being super lazy. It was really relaxing and you two had a lot of fun. The next morning you would wake up to discover that your cold was mostly gone and that your amazing boyfriend's arms were still wrapped around your waist, holding you tightly.
