Chapter 3
The past two weeks Zane and I have been hanging out a lot. Turns out he lives right next door so we can walk to each others houses when ever, I have also been riding to and from school with him. My dad ended up finding out about the skipping school thing, but he just said not to do it again and if I did I would get grounded.
I love not having a super strict parent. It makes my life so much easier, like most dads wouldn't let you go to your guy friend's house everyday and hang out til ten at night, but my dad is just happy that I have a friend. He's a little desperate for me to reach out to people my own age.
Today Zane is coming over to hang out and watch movies, my dad said he has a business dinner with some colleagues and is staying at some fancy hotel and Kevin is staying at a friends house. That means we are going to be here all alone, my dad knows about it though. He gave me money to order pizza and the code to rent any movie we want. I don't know why I get the feeling my dad is trying to get us together. Don't most dads try to avoid leaving their seventeen-year-old daughters alone with boys?
I take a quick shower and get ready for the night. Did I mention that Zane is staying all night, we've become really good friends. I learned that his current foster parents don't really care what he does so it wasn't hard for him to convince them to let him stay over at his friend's house. He didn't care to mention the fact that, that friend was a girl who lived right next door. I guess they're on a need to know basis.
I've ordered the pizza and blankets spread on the floor so we can watch movies. Zane should be here any minute now, he said he would be here around sixish and it's six ten. The doorbell rings and I'm hoping it's not the pizza man because honestly I don't like confrontation.
Lone behold it is Zane at the door he looks tired, like he just woke up or something.
"Sorry I'm late I kinda fell asleep when I got home, those teachers bored me to sleep, but I couldn't miss out on a movie night with my bestest friend." He says as he wraps one arm over my shoulder smiling like a lunatic. Turns out once you get to know him he becomes a complete weirdo. trust me if someone is super shy and quiet when you first meet them, it's usually is a lie. It's a mask to disguise their weirdness until you are too attached to get rid of them.
"It's fine I was just getting ready you know. By the way since you were late I already picked out the first movie, alos pizza is on its way and blankets are on the floor, for comfort." i give him the whole replay of what I've been doing for the past hour.
I swear to you if you picked out a sappy romance movie, I will die." He way over exaggerates that last part.
"Ew, no, no romance. We are watching Jurassic World, I've been dying to see this movie since I first heard it was being made. So you are going to sit here with me and watch scary dinosaurs eat people and each other , and you sir are going to like it." I love watching movies where people get killed to their own stupidity.
"What if I don't like it? Are you going to force me to watch it anyways?" He asks teasingly.
"Oh trust me you're going to like it, love it even. Who doesn't like seeing people get their heads ripped off by dinosaurs?" Isn't that obvious?
