I looked side to side, where the hell am I? Flashes of memories of the day before came and my eyes flapped wide open when I saw someone staring down at me. I blinked and kept a straight face as I mumbled, “Good morning.”
“Who’s the new guy?”
There were two boys looking down at me, both curious. By their appearances I can tell they were two very different human beings. The first had soft golden hair and big broad shoulders, standing tall and proud. His attire consisted of dark ripped jeans, a loose Three Days Grace band tee, and a tailored leather jacket. The one beside him was about a foot shorter and he had dyed black hair with tight skinnies, a tee that said "Cupid kills" with a winged boy with a heart-shaped arrows and a heart shaped eyepatch, and black high tops. He also had several piercings including snakebites, a nose ring, and two eyebrow piercing on his left. They looked at one another and observed the other before looking back at me. That's when I heard the devil’s voice.
“That’s my stepbrother!”
My eyes widened, I groaned and rubbed my head, hoping it was dilirium or that I was having halucinations, “No… no… no.”
Nicky's face peered over the smaller boy’s shoulder and grinned at me, “He looks so cute when he's surprised!”
“There isn't a God or he didn't he my prayers," I mumbled, my confusion evident on my face. What did I do to make you so angry?
“Missed me?”
“No, I can’t say I did.”
“Aw! You’re so cruel!”
“You’re the reason why I’m here!” I snapped at him, sitting up and keeping my eyes on him.
“I came,” he said, meekly, keeping his eyes on the ground. It almost made a bubble of laughter come out of my throat, a bitter laugh but a laugh no less. Who would want to miss this? Not me. Never would I expect big, bad Nicholas to look so pathetic at the expense of a nobody like me.
“No, Nicky, you…” I sighed, some guilt and pity in my tone, “Don’t give me those eyes.”
He looked at me with those close to tears aquamarine blue eyes and went on his knees so he could make them looked upwards to me. When we were children, he used to be shorter than me and he always gave me those eyes. It was a way to make me do things I didn’t want to do, “What eyes?”
“Those eyes,” I pointed at him and made a frustrated noise, “Those devious eyes. Stop it.”
“What are you talking about?” he fained innocent.
“Knock it off, Nicholas, I mean it. Now.”
A small whimper.
“Okay, I forgive you! Just stop with the eyes!” I said, shielding my own. I stood up, holding my hands up, trying to make him calm.
He smiled and grabbed me before jumping up and down like a little girl. He squealed and finally calmed enough to take a step back away; I found him he was blushing, “Sorry.”
