Chapter 4

First day back at school. Breath Ella. I got out of bed grabbing a cute little tank top and jeans with boots. My hair was down and had big curls at the end.
"Dammit" I'm rushing so I'm not late. Messing up my makeup I leave it and head down stairs.
"Are you sure your ready for this"
"Mom I'm positive. It will be fine". Truthfully I mostly want to see Lucas. Is that a bad thing? What ever. Im leaving I yelled to my mom.
"Hey Em. Thanks for picking me up". She smiled at me.
"Of coarse. And I got you this coffee!"
"OMG your the best!"
"I know" she cheers.
"So..." I look at Emily know what she is going to say. She gave me a huge smile.
"Emily I am not in love with him. Plus even if I was he wouldn't like someone like me. And I don't want him to figure out everything else. All he knows is I'm Ella Collins and I got kidnapped four years ago. That's all I want him to know".
"Okay..., but if by chance he ever asked u on a date would you go?" She gave me a look. The Emily look.
"For me...... Please?" Sticking out her lip and holding her coffee she begs.
"Yes, but it won't happen. And you Mrs. Match maker are not going to say anything to him Cory or Brin okay?"
"Pinky promise!" Emily can get excited over the littlest things. It's so funny.

We pull up into the school parking lot, where Cory, Brin and.... Lucas are sitting by their cars.
"E-bear, I missed you so much!" Cory is squeezing me so hard I couldn't breath.
"Cory I just saw you Saturday".
"Exactly. It feels like forever" everyone started laughing at Cory's excitement.
"Oh hey Lucas" Emily barging in trying to start a conversation to get me to talk to Lucas. I told her not to do this.
"Uh what's up Emily... Hi Ella" what did he just say hi ELLA. As in me. I'm totally freaking out. Don't be stupid. Breathe.
"Hey Lucas!" He smiled, but it went away right when someone came up next to me. My heart started pounding. Is it him? No were at school I should be safe here... I hope. I turn around to see who it is.
"Kyle!" He hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. Kyle as in Kyle I was dating before I went missing. Does he think we are still together...? No I like Lucas though. Emily gave me a worried look knowing what I was thinking. He wasn't the best boyfriend. We used to fight all the time.
"How are you chica?"
"I'm fine" lies. The whole time Kyle was talking it was so awkward. Finally he stopped talking.
"Well I have to go see you later!" He kissed me on the cheek and walked away.
"Who was that?" Of coarse Lucas asks. Everyone exchanged faces letting me answer.
"Um my boyfriend?"
"Boyfriend?" He clarified confused by the way I questioned it.
"Well you know before I was gone we were dating. Emily does he still think we are together?" I turn to her in confusion.
"Yea... I talked to him the other day. That's what I wanted to talk to you about this weekend, but we were busy having to much fun and I forgot. I'm so sorry." I looked at Lucas to see his expression. He just looked at me. His bright blue eyes were directly into mine. It felt like I was somewhere else. Does Lucas have feelings for me?
"Don't be sorry. It's okay. I just have to find a way to break up with him.... Kyle I'm sorry but the four years I was kidnapped and tortured I lost feeling for you.." Everyone gave me a blank look.
"Maybe something a little more... Subtle" Brin looks at me hoping I take her advise.
"First day back and it's already started with drama.... Boy drama. Great!" I could tell I'm making this awkward. I haven't been in my right mind lately.
"Sorry. Um maybe I should go". I paced through the cars hoping no one noticed me. The last thing I need is to run into people I don't want to see.

First class. Chemistry with... Mr. Alexander. I walk into the class.
"Ms. Collins?"
"Um yea" awkward
"You will sit next to Lucas. The kid in the grey shirt". You are kidding me. I'm going to fail this class now. Maybe I should switch schools. No just switch classes no maybe...
"Hey Ella" my heart stopped.
"Hey Lucas".
"Okay class quiet down" stupid teacher. I was bonding. As I start to get out my pencil I feel a pice of paper slide next to me.

So did you break up with your boyfriend?
I grabbed my pencil to write back.

No I haven't gotten to it yet, and I don't take him as my boyfriend anymore.

Oh. Can I ask you something?

Yea.
Omg what does he want!

I know it's kind of soon, but I was thinking that just me and you could hang out sometime?

Was Emily right? Does he like me. Before I could answer him the bell rings and everyone scatters. Wow class was fast. I didn't even pay attention. Me and Lucas walk side by side in the hallway.

"Oh and the answer is yes!" I turned to him to say.
"What are you saying yes to?" Emily cuts in. I started to blush now that Emily, Brin and Cory were around. I started to talk but Lucas stepped in.
"We were just making plans"
"Cool when and where!" Cory butts in. If they find out it's just me and him they will think it's a date, and truthfully I don't even know what it is.
"We don't know let. But I'll let you know!" Lucas looks at me with a grin.

It was the end of the day. Me, Emily, Brin, Cory and Lucas were all in the parking lot hanging out and talking.
"Ella I'm so sorry. I got a text from my mom I have to get home. Can you get another ride?"
"I'll take her home.... If that's okay with you?" Lucas cuts in.
"Of coarse" I smile and we get into the car.
"Here find a CD you like" he throws me a whole case full of CD's. I gave a little laugh under my breath.
"What's so funny?" He smiled at me.
"So your like old school? You got CD's, why not use your phone?" I mentioned. He gives me a smirk.
"Old school huh? Why Ms. Ella you know nothing about me, I'm much more than using CD's. For instance at home I use a record player". I looked at him and started laughing so hard.
"Your kidding right?"
"Of coarse!"
"So what, your some guy that has a total different life at home then around your friends?" He smirks at me.
"Are you a drug dealer?" I ask joking around.
"Why are you so interested in figuring me out?" He looked at me serious this time. Like he really did have something to hide.
"I... I don't know. What about you. You have a lot of questions yourself".
"Because I.....there is something about you....I just want to get to know you" it started getting really awkward in the car.
"Here" I handed him a CD I found.
"Your kidding. You like The Beatles?"
"Omg are you kidding me. I listen to the all the time".
"Look who's going old school now!" I smiled at him. He had this look on him face like he wanted to say something, but he hesitated.
"What is it..?" He seemed a little nervous. All you could hear was the radio playing softly in the background.
"Do you want to go on a date with me?" He blurted out. My heart started pounding. I have grew a lot of feelings for Lucas.
"Sorry, that was awkward".
"No I mean yes. YES I will go on a date with you". I placed my hand on his bicep letting him know it wasn't awkward. We pulled up to my house and he started to talk.
"Saturday night? At 6."
"That sound fine. What are we doing?"
"That Ella Collins will be a surprise!"
I waved him goodbye and went into my house.
"I have a date...." I mumbled
"I Have a date!!!!!"
