Chapter 5

"How could I have let her get away?" Discord growled, slamming his fist on the armrest of his throne. "It was hard enough getting her here seeing as she's immune to my hpnoytic powers! Now I'll need to use another plan!"

The chimera snapped his fingers, making a sponge cake shaped as the letter B appear. Discord proceeded to squeeze the pastry into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully.

"Mhm." Discord muttered, "I like Plan B. It's evil. It's brilliant. Which genius thought of it? Oh right! Me!"

Discord smiled. Oh, Fluttershy and his kids were going to have a lovely Heathwarming...

Meadow got out of the hospital a week later. She was informed that it was December 20th, a piece of information she was glad to have. She needed to buy some presents, stat.

Blitz accompanied her to the shops, helping her pick out the presents for their friends, only stopping when she said she needed to buy his present. Yes, it had been a good day for Meadow.

She wrapped all the presents up promptly, lablling each before Ivy came bounding into her room, demanding Meadow to help her make gingerbread animals.

"I want to make a gingerbread house as well, and I wanna decorate them with choclate icing and.."

"Okay Ivy. I understand." Meadow chuckled, oblivious to the fact that the two girls were being watched.

The Mane Eight were huddled around the fireplace in Twilight's castle.

"Wow! Thanks for the party cannon, Mum!" Cheddar and Cherry grinned, hugging a new party cannon each.

"Your welcome, twins. I just want to see if you can give me a better gift than what I just gave you!" Pinkie giggled, unwrapping a pink box. "Wow! Twins, you got me a deluxe bubble machine?!"

"Happy Hearthswarming, Mum!" The twins smiled, pulling their mother and father into a group hug.

"Well, it's time for us to start heading home before the blizzard gets out of control. Happy Heathwarming!" Applejack explained, her husband and children following her out the door, exchanging goodbyes.

"Same here. The girls and I plan to have a cosy evening, seeing as it's Heathwarming Eve." Fluttershy explained, getting up and wrapping a green scarf around her neck.

"Okay, well keep safe girls. Especially since he's on the loose." Twilight replied, hugging Fluttershy.

"We will, thank you Twilight." Fluttershy whispered, exiting through the door, Meadow and Ivy following.

One by one, the gathering of families diminished, until only one family remained; Gala and Flashie pulled their parents into a group hug.

"Happy Heartwarming everyone, and to all a good night!" Flashie quoted, smiling.

Fluttershy, Meadow and Ivy were all tucked under a blanket, snuggling on the couch and sipping hot chocolates together.

"Mum, it's too quite." Ivy moaned. "Can we sing?"

Her mother agreed.

Fluttershy began to sing, her sweet voice smooth.

The three mares finished their song, their laughter and happiness filling the small cottage with warmth. Several animals peeked their heads out of burrows to savour the sweetness of the warmth of these ponies hearts and the clash of the winter's cold.

"How about we eat some gingerbread?" Fluttershy asked, clutching her aching stomach, crying for mercy due to the laughter it had just endured.

"Yeah!" The children smiled, as the buttercream pegasus exited into the kitchen. However, a pair of hidden eyes was watching the whole scene.

"Yes. You just relax, my dears. After all, you need time to enter your naiive states before I strike."
