Chapter 6

"We're leaving already?!" Ellie asks. "But I wanna stay awhile! We haven't even bid farewell to Marilyn!" Rory protests. "Just get in!" David snaps. He sets the coordinates for home. There's a long silence & only the Tardis' sound can be heard as it slowly takes off. Halfway through the journey, the phone on the Tardis rings. David picks it up & hears a familiar, yet weak voice. He remembers giving her the number. "What d'ya want?" he asks, grumpily. "I...just wanted to...apologize, Dave." Marilyn replies, weakly. "Oh!" he exclaims. "I'm sorry...plz. forgive me!" he hears her sobbing on the other end. "I forgive u!" he sobs into the phone. "Thanks for being the only one to understand me, to unlock the inner, real me..." she gasps. "What's going on, Marilyn? Are u ok?" a doubtful David asks. "This might be our last phone-call...& I might've finished my final photo-shoot....bye! Thanks for trying to save me!" she exclaims, before hanging up. David realizes what's happened, but it's too late! "Nooo!!" he breaks down, as they land. The kids gather around him to console him.
