This is my last chance to turn back. I could just say I'm sick and take a day off. No I already called. I have to go now. My foot stepped in to the grass and I forced my other foot to follow. On we go on this great adventure.
On and on I went. The brush and branches scraped my arms and legs as I pushed through them. There was no cell reception there so I would have to text aunt Sophie later. She'll be here by then. Surely she can't be later than when school ends. Maybe I should've checked the news. What if she got in an accident and died. My mind is viewing the worst possibilities as it tends to do. How did I let myself slip into the woods alone. I couldn't have just asked for a ride with a friend?
I came into a clearing. Funny, I don't remember this at all. Suddenly I heard a stick snap behind me. Whirling around, I scanned the area for something to use as a weapon. This can't be happening. I stared into the frozen eyes of a deer. I sighed with relief as it ran away. Turning around I realized I had no sense of direction. My run in with the deer side tracked me. My heart sunk to the floor with the realization that I am lost. How cliché of me.
