Present day

Angel's P.O.V.

I was laying on my bed studying for my final history exam for Monday, going back and forth on the indigenous tribes; the Kalinagos and Tainos, when I heard my mother calling for me to come downstairs.

"Angel, Angel! Come downstairs and meet our new neighbour!"

"I'm coming," I shouted back while rolling my eyes.

She's always up for some plain old socialization, and I for one am not a fan. When I got downstairs I saw my mom inviting in Cole Brume a.k.a. the bad boy of my school. I had a complete shockwave within that moment.

'Please say he is not my new neighbour, and he rang the wrong house bell' I thought to myself. Cole was very handsome let put that there. Actually, let's scratch that. He was a smoking hot Greek god.

"Angel stop staring and say hello to our new neighbour Mr Brume," my mother said, while Cole smirked and enjoyed my little moment of embarrassment. I immediately turned crimson in my face although I was covered in dark melanin.

"Hello, my name is Angel, nice to meet you. Welcome to the neighbourhood, Mr Brume" I said stressing the 'Mr. Brume' part, while extended my hand to him. I was unexpectedly pulled into his firm chest, why might I add which was filled with muscles from the Gods. I could literally feel his eight pack through his t-shirt.

'Daymm do you work out all day?' 'Stop it brain! No, he is not good for you!' I scolded myself.

"No need for formalities, after all, we are neighbours, call me Cole. It is nice to meet you Angel" he said, well mostly whisper the last part in my ear. Then he finally released me from his hold. By now my face and neck were as red as a tomato.

"Angel looks you made a new friend!" my mother said and laughed before she dragged Cole and me to the living room. Then my mother began with her million and one questions; "So Cole are you new to the town? Where are your parents? How old are you? What school do you attend?" Etc... Honestly, I don't know how come she isn't a reporter or in that career path since she likes to bombarded people with all those questions.

Cole, on the other hand, didn't even look surprised. It was like, he was accustomed to people being in his business or should I say asking him all these questions. And so he began, "No I'm not new to town; my parents just needed a house closer to this area. They're on a business trip. I am 18 going on 19 in December and last but not least I attend West Helena High School.

"Oh, you and Angel go to the same school!" my mother jumped up like a school girl. "Are you both friends?"

'Cant this woman stop asking questions...Ughhh' I thought.

"No, we have different peers, but I don't mind getting to know her," he said, winking in my direction. Oh my lord help me, help me...

"Yes, that sounds great because she needs some friends. She only has two weird friends, Kate and Theo! But onto more important matters would you like to stay for dinner Cole?" mother asked.

'Can this woman be any more embarrassing, I could cry right now?'

"I don't mind staying for dinner Mrs Carter, I have nothing better to do," he said. "Oh dear call me Ariel." My mom said sweetly. "Okay, Ariel," Cole said while smirking at my mom. 'Could this get any more awkward?' I mentally groaned at the scene... "Mom do you need any help in the kitchen, do you want me to cut anything up for you?" I said while starring at Cole.

"No Angel, why don't you show Cole your room. Both of you can get to know each other better." My mom said while going into the kitchen.

'What the flying f#*k is this woman trying to do to me? Leaving me alone in my room with Cole a.k.a. the bad boy a.k.a. the hot smoking Greek god!'
