Angel's POV.

I woke up to lurid commotion coming from downstairs. They were at it again. Dad comes home at late hours in the night and starts verbal fights with mom. For me, this constant battle of verbal abuse thrown at each other was a normal thing. I waited oh so patiently for them to stop arguing, and then I would resume to my sleep. However, the yelling didn't cease. After a half hour, they were still at it. Sometimes I wish they were like regular couples or like those couples in the movies who would fight and make up some way or the other but no. This is the wretched reality.

Sometimes I marvel why she still bothers to stay with him. She deserves better. I deserve better than this environment, but yet I have no choice but to stay. It's not like she wanted this to happen to her. It wasn't like she had a time machine to go back and prevent what happened, to cause the existence of yours truly. I was seriously getting fed up with their constant quarrelling that didn't seem to be finishing anytime soon so I got up off my bed and decided to take a walk.

Despite the fact that I was going to do this in the middle of the night. To me, it just seemed much quieter and calmer during this time of the day. I would walk down the streets knowing that it was just me, hardly anyone up at this time and absolutely no cars. It allowed me to just really breathe, knowing that I was at peace, my mind clear and free from all the chains that I carried. It allowed me to just really breathe, knowing that I was at peace, my mind clear and free from all the chains that I carried.

I threw on a pair of black leggings, a maroon knitted sweater, socks and my black pair of uggs boots. I grabbed my phone and a pepper spray and stuffed it in my pocket as I was quickly and stealthily making my way down the stairs and out the house, not wanting to draw any attention and more importantly, not wanting to hear any more of their bickering.

Walking down my street, I embraced the still atmosphere, loving every moment of it. The chilly wind kissed my skin, making my pores rise and trembling like a leaf. I completely forgot to grab my coat, but it was too late for that right now and I really didn't feel like going back. Continuing my walk, I felt as if I was being watched. I heard footsteps coming from behind me. I turned around to see who it was but no one was there. The hairs on my hands began to rise as I continued my walk.

Then I heard it again. I turned around and still didn't see anyone. I began to run until I reached a corner and hid behind some bushes. I heard footsteps pelting against the pavement and began to slow down. As the person approached the corner, I jumped and was prepared to pepper-spray my stalker. My eyes widened as they met a pair of familiar startled stormy grey ones.

"Are you stalking me now?" I asked.

"No agapiméni, I was taking a walk and you just happened to be here also. Why on Earth would you walk alone at this time? You could've been in danger," Cole said concerned.

"Taking a walk at night? Seriously? Is that the best you could come up with?" I asked.

"You shouldn't be the one to talk, you're here too which really isn't smart of you and why would I stalk something that is already mine's agapiméni?"

"Um, last time I checked, you didn't place a ring on this finger." I shot back, pointing to my ring finger.

He simply smirked at me. "Well if you wanted to get bonded to this," he said, pointing to him, "all you had to do was simply ask."

"Ugh... that's not what I meant!" I exclaimed, "Just leave me alone!"

With that said I stormed off. Only to be pulled into his arms. His chest pressed against my back. I was trying to get out of his hold but my attempts at escape were pointless. I relaxed into him. I felt Cole's lip against my ear, and then he said, ''Why are you always running from me agapiméni? I know what you're doing and I like the chase but know that I will always catch you." I was so grateful that we weren't under a lamppost for him to notice my blush. I turned around continuing my walk and I swear I heard a small chuckle leave his mouth. We both continued our walk down the street. We didn't talk or anything, we just stayed quiet, enjoying each other's company.

Ten minutes later

Cole and I were now three blocks away from our houses when he asked "Are you cold?" with concern written on his face as realizing that I was shivering. "No, I'm good," I said quickly, trying for us to return back to the wonderful silence. "You are shivering, your teeth are chattering together, and the hairs and pores on your skin are rising." He said while running his finger up my arm.

"I'm good! I'm perfectly fine. Now shut up and let's continue our walk." I exclaimed a bit annoyed.

I continued to walk when I felt a warm fabric draped on my shoulders. "Cole, I'm fine. I don't need your jacket," I complained, secretly enjoying its warm touch against my skin. "Just wear it for God sake, it's not like it's going to kill you or anything!" he said. "Fine," I replied, hugging it tighter around me, inhaling the smell of chocolate and pine cones. I suddenly felt at ease.

"How about we take a little detour?" He asked, smirking at me.

"To where? Cole's after midnight!" I cried.

"We're going for some ice-cream," he nonchalantly answered.

'Is he mental? Ice-cream? Don't get me wrong I love my ice cream but what shop was going to be open at this ungodly hour.'

We continued to walk as I mumbled profanities. He grabbed my waist and dragged me like a little rag doll into this little cute ice-cream store called 'Cherry's Delights'. I stand corrected, there is an ice-cream shop open at this hour.

"Good night or morning whatever. My name is Cherry. What flavour ice-cream can I get for your delight?" the middle age woman said while laughing. Cole took a second to process what just happened but he just went right away and called out what ice-cream he wanted. "I'd like a three scoops chocolate ice-cream please."

"Sure thing sweetness," Cherry said.

"Agapiméni what do you want?"

"Umm...I didn't bring any money with me, I can't buy any." I said.

"Don't worry I got that covered. So what do you want?"

"I would like two scoops on a cone, please. A scoop of cookies and cream and the other scoop of coconut," I requested. She took out our orders and handed them to us. We said thank you and slid into a booth. "Let's play twenty questions," I asked, well more like demanded. Cole just nods. "Hmm... okay. Cole what is your favourite colour?", "Black," Cole said.

"Wow. That is so cl..."

"Yes Angel, I know it's so cliché for the 'bad boy's' favourite colour to be black," he said while he dug into his chocolate ice-cream.

"So tell me about yourself, Angel," he questioned with that smirk of his.

'Oh boy, we were going to be here for a long while.'
