Alice sat in the back of the dark sorrowful car, she could hear regret's voice calling to her as the negative energy overwhelmed her. A single tear rolled down her cheeks, her icey blue eyes becoming subtle. "What have I done?" She thought to herself looking out the window at all the innocent people passing by, innocent people like that poor boy, lying on the ground, lifeless.
"Frank! Frank! Hey, kid! " Frank snapped back to reality .There he was again, digging into the past. The only problem was, in his head he didn't have one. He just woke up in a hospital, handcuffed to the bed, a killer headache and a blank slate. They told him he killed someone. Then , when they thought he was "healed enough". They threw him in this car and started driving. The person called him dragging him back into the horrible thing called reality and snapped him out of thought. " We're here. Get out" The man muttered. Frank slowly climbed out of the car and closed the car door. The man sped off immediately. " Wow. Quite friendly" He mumbled with sarcasm followed by a quiet chuckle. He slowly stumbled towards the door and grabbed the handle.

This was their new life.

The car came to a sudden halt as Alice opened the door climbing out, still wiping tears from her now damp cheeks. Her eyes drifted upon a boy, a very interesting looking boy, he seemed a lot like her. The car sped off into the distance as she just stood there, examining the boy.

"Hm, this place isn't that bad." Frank though to himself. "Here I go. " He whispered calmly letting out a subtle sigh. He turned the handle opening the door with an eerie creak and taking a small step inside trying not to make much noise. A nurse slowly walked towards him with an expression of shock upon her face , which quickly faded into anger. "The driver was supposed to escort you into the building! You could've easily ran off. " She yelled. She looked rather distraught. "Where would I run? I don't know where I am or where I came from" Frank mumbled. It's true, he couldn't remember anything. The nurse seemed to calm down a bit and she looked at him with a sudden understanding. "You're the amnesia case, aren't you? They say you don't even remember what you did. I'm not allowed to tell you , but if its true.. You're a sick bastard." Frank was quite shocked by this. "What could he have done?" He thought. With that another female nurse came to escort him to the public recreation room.

Alice hesitantly wandered to the giant metal door, she grasped the cold handle debating whether to open it or not. Finally she pulled the door open taking a small step inside to see a short slender nurse, her long black hair meeting at her waist, and her cold green eyes staring at Alice. "Did that idiot really just drive away again without escorting the patient in?" She huffed and took a hold of Alice's wrist. "Come on" She let out a heavy sigh dragging Alice to the public recreation room.

The music was the first thing to greet Frank. Most would find it horrendous but he thought it could be worse. It was definitely not his first pick though. Then looking around he saw a sad picture, almost like a painting capturing the emotion of the fading sunset. These patients with their emotionless eyes. Some sitting on the leather couch by the barred up windows in the back . There is some occasional seats sprawled out around the room and a chess table . He walked across the dusty room , the air seemed heavier the further he walked. Maybe this was because of his head wound? He finally found a seat near the back right corner away from the general population in the room. So , he took a seat. Maybe he can try to remember if he could just get some alone time.

Alice slowly stepped into the room trying not to draw attention to herself but getting an occasional glance from the patients who were rather zombie like, they seemed so dreary, lifeless almost. The hollow eyes set on her made her cringe and made her rather uneasy. She moved strands of her red hair from her face and sat down alone at a table pulling out a copy of the scarlett letter, reading silently as her eyes lit up with each word.
