“Clarissa!” Chauncey sang walking into my bathroom.
“Chauncey,” I sang back.
“Ready?” he asked leaning against the door.
“Almost,” I said walking passed him.
“What’s this guy’s name?” he asked smirking at me.
“Huh?” I asked grabbing my school bag.
“You’re looking hot for someone. Who is it?”
“It’s nothing, for now,”
“I won’t get mad; just tell me who he is?”
“Right now, he’s nothing. When things start going my way, I’ll tell you,” I said.
“No fair. I told you about Rose way before anything happened,”
“That’s because you wanted me as your wing man,” I said.
“So? I could return the favor,”
“Don’t worry about it, handsome man, I got this. Ready?”
“Let’s roll,” he said walking out my room.
I followed him to the car.
On the car ride there we sang along to the radio and joked around.
“Chauncey!” Rose said as we both got out the car.
“See you inside,” I said walking towards the school.
“Okay,” he said walking over to her.
I walked up the stairs leading to the school and headed to my locker.
“Hey Clarissa,” a group of guys said as I walked by.
I smiled at them and a few of them winked.
“Looking good, baby,” David said as I passed him.
I rolled my eyes and kept on walking.
I slowed my pace once I saw Jerry leaning against my locker.
I smiled a little and walked over.
“Yes?”
“Morning,” he said handing me a rose.
“I hate roses,” I said.
“I’ll try again tomorrow,”
“I hate flowers,”
“I’ll try again tomorrow,”
I smiled at him. “So, what brings you here?”
“Like I said, we have to act like we’re into each other,”
“Right,”
“By the way, I really like your outfit…”
“Look me in the eyes,” I said forcing his chin up.
He smirked at me and leaned down.
“What’s going on here?” Chauncey said.
I looked over at him. “Nothing,” I said.
“Lighten up dude,” Jerry said as pushed him out the way so I could open my locker.
“A rose? Clarissa hates flowers and roses,” Chauncey said.
“I know that, now,” Jerry said.
“It’s no big deal,” I said organizing my things.
“Yeah,” Jerry said.
