Later that night, I ordered Chinese and sent the next couple of hours watching T.V in the living room. The doorbell rang as a loud roll of thunder shook the house. I got up to answer the door.
“Who is it?” I called.
“An ass,” Chauncey replied.
I sighed and opened the door. Chauncey rushed in and crashed his lips into mine. I stumbled back as my brain tried to process what was happening.
I quickly kissed back and wrapped my arms around his neck. Chauncey lifted me up and spun me around. I smiled as I pulled away and a giggle escaped me.
“I’ve always noticed you. I’ve liked you since sixth grade. I just never acted on it. I didn’t want a relationship to ruin our friendship. Clarissa, I’ve wanted to kiss you like that for the longest time and I’m pretty sure that I love you. And, if you still want to date me, I would be honored to have you as my girlfriend.”
I smiled and kissed Chauncey once again.
“Yes!” I said smiling. “I love you.”
Chauncey smiled and kissed me again.
We pulled away and he put me down and hugged me.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered in my ear. “I didn’t want to lose you and I ended up almost doing just that. You are never an option.”
I smiled. “Thank you.”
Chauncey pulled away and smiled at me. “I should go, since it’s pretty late and all.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow, boyfriend.”
“Bright and early, girlfriend,” he kissed me again before leaving.
I smiled to myself and got ready for bed.

“Clarissa!” Chauncey sang coming into my room.
“Chauncey!” I sang back smiling at myself in the mirror.
My boyfriend walked into the bathroom and smiled at me, “hey beautiful.”
“Hey, handsome,” I said as he walked over to me. Chauncey gave me a kiss before hugging me.
“Ready?” he asked playing with his hair.
“Yup, I’m on time for once.”
“Sweet,” he said lacing our fingers together. We walked to his car and Chauncey opened the door for me. I kissed him as a thank you before getting into the car. He hurried to the other side and drove us to school.
Once there we got out and he held my hand, once again, and we walked into school together.
People stared at us for a while before smiling and nodding, as if they approved.
“About time!” Bryan said clapping as Crystal, Courtney and Tiffany joined him. “When did this happen?”
“Last night,” I said smiling.
“Finally, he came to his senses,” Tiffany said smiling.
“We’re happy for you two,” Courtney said.
We smiled at them before walking away.
David was at my locker waiting for me, once we got there. “What? You’re taken again? Ugh!” he said walking away.
I laughed and watched him storm away. I spun open my combination and rearranged my book bag.
“People are staring,” Chauncey said with a chuckle.
“Well, let’s give them a show,” I said wrapping my arms around Chauncey’s neck and bringing him into a kiss. He smiled as his hand traveled my back to my waist.
People clapped and whistled. I guess they were all waiting for us to get together like I was. I smiled as I pulled away.
I looked passed Chauncey and saw Jerry who just stared at me before walking away.
