Joe turned around, finding Josh Peiter leaning against a brick wall, a cigarette laying lazily in his mouth.
Josh was a good friend of Joe's, introduced to each other by Caspar.
Josh took a puff from his cigarette and walked over to Joe.
"Hi, Josh." Joe yawned, feeling a wave of tiredness rush over him.
"You look like Shit. What're you even doing out this late? I never see you in this part of town." Josh questioned.
Joe looked around, sudden realization that he was in the hood part of town.
Sure, the whole town was hood in General but there were rougher parts.
"I was just walking around... Must have lost my way." Joe mumbled.
"You're lucky I found ya. Caspar would have my head on a stick if you got hurt." Josh chuckled.
"I can handle myself..." Joe said.
"I know, but everyone slips up once in a while. Me included. Cmon, I'll walk you back." Josh spoke, turning around and walking the way they had came.
Everyone treated Joe like he was a child, and he was honestly sick of it. He was one of the oldest of his group of friends, sure he was the smallest and quietest and overall the most fragile and damaged, but he could handle himself. Most of the time.

"You still live in the dormitories, right?" Josh asked.
Not a lot of his friends weren't in college, but some did.
"Yes." Joe said.
They walked together in silence to the dorms, and when they got there it was around 2 AM.
"Hey, I'm sorry about what I said earlier but, y'know? You're not as street smart as the rest of us. We just want you safe." Josh said, patting Joe's shoulder.
"You don't have to treat me like I'm five." Joe hissed, throwing Josh 's hand off and walking towards His dorm.
He stopped for a moment.
"...But... Thanks for walking me back... It means a lot, Josh." Joe mumbled, before walking in.
