A Love Like in the Fairytales

When I was a little girl I used to read fairy tales. In fairy tales you meet Prince Charming and he's everything you ever wanted. In fairy tales the bad guy is very easy to spot. The bad guy is always wearing a black cape so you always know who he is. Then you grow up and you realize that Prince Charming is not as easy to find as you thought. You realize the bad guy is not wearing a black cape and he's not easy to spot; he's really funny, and he makes you laugh, and he has perfect hair.

"How many times do I have to tell you, no, I'm not going with you to this said parties? I'm not interested, or the least bit interested in going to one, nor meeting a male, and associating myself with him. I know it might seem unreasonable for you, but I have pretty high standards because of pretty special reasons. In order for me to agree to this party, then I should be set up with only one person. That person has to love books, as much as I do, takes his studies seriously, has a kind heart, and be in the form of Pierce Anderson. And since I know there is only one of such person, then I would just stick with the confines of my book, and shut every male out, just as I please."

Veronica eyed on me once more, her jaw dropped, as her eyes went from me to her potato salad.

"I have one thing to say about you, Scarlett. You sure are aggressively faithful to someone who doesn't even know you at all."

"That's it?" I scowled, "That's all you picked up from what I had just said? I told you, I'm not interested in dating, or anything related to that, as of the moment." I twirled my red hair, and buried my eyes back to my book.

Beauty and the beast, classic. As much as I'm one of those anti-sappy advocates, who was particularly allergic to public displays of affection and shameless groping of hormonal teenagers, I am actually a hopeless romantic myself. The difference is, I don't exercise, or show it, mainly because my heart is set on only one unreachable person - Pierce Anderson.

Nobody could reach him, per se, but much more to me, since I'm an introvert and very selective with the people I associate with. I'm socially awkward, and my sarcasm is the only thing that gets me by, sometimes. It's tough, not being able to shut your mouth, when you feel like you should. I've been crushing on Pierce ever since second grade, the moment we were assigned to be seatmates, and he stood up for me when Alexander threatened me of my lunch money.

I remembered his gleaming blue eyes back then, his lean figure, as Alexander easily pushed him, and he fell on his butt, but that didn't stop him from fighting. He was able to take my lunch money back, not without a fight, of course. He had a few bruises, but he still managed to ask me if I was alright. That was the very moment, he became my prince.

Ever since that day, I've been secretly stalking him. I know it sounds creepy, but I'm not one of those creepers who secretly steal his jacket or underwear, or something. I just stalk his social media accounts, sometimes follow him around in school, because I simply wanted to know what he's doing. It's not like I built an altar of him in my bedroom, or pin pictures of him on my wall. I wasn't like that at all. I just wanted to know the things he likes, and he occasionally dropped hints on his statuses in Facebook or tweets in Twitter. He also had a personal website, which by the way, had the virtual pen name, p.a. cummings. I assumed he's a fan of works by e.e.cummings and decided that it's pretty clever to tweak his name with his own initials.

Anyway, going back to my point, and so, I also browse through his site from time to time and let me tell you, he has a good number of literary works that were really brilliant. I share it in my blog and Facebook page from time to time as well, expressing my appreciation. Nobody knew the site was Pierce's, only I did. I knew because when I was stalking him once in the library, I saw him dozing off, his laptop open, and there I saw a webpage open where he was in the midst of finishing another post of his'. Of course, I took note of the website name and bookmarked it in one of my homepages.
