I place both of my hands on the wall in front of me. I spread my legs apart a little. I start sliding down until I am doing a split. The stretch of my muscles between my legs ache with pain. I squeeze my eyes tightly as I hold the position.

My dance instructor told me that I needed to start working on my splits. She claims that they 'aren't perfect enough'. If I'm being honest with myself, I think my splits are good enough. But my instructor is a perfectionist, so I have to make sure I'm doing them up to her standards

When the pain starts to get intense, I grip onto something close by. I slowly pull myself up, and whimper at the strong feeling in my legs. I take a deep breath and reach for my water bottle. I take a sip, and plop myself down on the couch. I stretch my legs out, and place my head on one of my couch pillows. That's enough for today. If I continue I'll probably pull a muscle. Which wouldn't be good since I have a dance recital in three weeks.

I turn the TV on and start watching NCIS. Fifteen minutes in the show, I feel myself start to doze off. I didn't get much sleep last night, because I was hanging out with the girls, excluding Brooke, at a club called 'Starry Nights'.

I close my eyes, about to fall asleep, until the ringing sound of the doorbell fills my apartment. I groan in frustration, and get up. I limp a little towards the front door. I look through the peep hole, and see some guy standing there. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. I've never seen him around here before. Maybe he's lost, or he's selling something.

I unlock the door, and open it. My eyes widen at the sight in front of me. The guy in front of me is very good-looking. Actually, no, he's more than that. He's smoking hot. He has dark brown hair that has blonde streaks in it, and he has blue eyes that are brighter than any eyes I have seen. His skin is pale, but not too pale. It's just right.

The guy gives me a smile. He holds his hand out and greets, "Hi, my name is Collin, and I'm your new next door neighbor."

New neighbor, huh? He must have moved into Ms. Castello's old apartment next to mine. Ever since she moved away to Seattle, a year ago, her apartment's been empty. I smile back at him, and place my hand in his outstretched one. "Nice to meet you. My name is Aubrey."

We shake hands, and I am about to pull mines away, but he holds it tighter. He slowly brings my hand up to his lips, and kisses it. I blink in surprise at the welcoming gesture. Wow, no one has ever kissed my hand before.

"Aubrey. What a beautiful name." He winks at me, as he lets go of my hand.

I feel my cheeks heat up, and avert my eyes away from him. Okay, now he's flirting with me. First he kisses my hand. Then he compliments my name, and lastly, he winks at me.

"T-Thank you." I stutter.

Collin gives a laugh, catching my attention. I look up, and see that he has a look of admiration as he looks me up and down. Is he checking me out? I feel my body get hot at the thought.

Collin looks up at me, and winks again. "Nice body you have there. Let me guess, you're a dancer," he pauses as he continues observing me, "that's very flexible."

I nod my head and give him a nervous smile. Wow, he got that just from looking at my body. Collin smirks at me, and nods in appreciation.

"Well it was nice to meet you. You seem like a cool person." He says.

I nod my head, "Yeah, you seem cool too." I agree.

Collin winks at me again, and walks away from my porch with a goodbye.
