“Sano, bring me to the game house.”

“Meg, WHAT? You want to WHAT?”

“You look funny again,” Megumi stifled her giggle.

“And you’re doing it again, Meg,” Sano pouted his lip in annoyance.

“What?” Megumi looked up at him with as much innocence as she could fake.

“Laughing at me like I’m some kind of an idiot,” he said brusquely.

“Sorry,” Megumi tried to keep a straight face.

            Silence.

            “Sano, are you mad?”

Sano just shook his head at her and did not answer. He pulled a dried fish bone out of his pocket and chewed on it.

“Sorry,” Megumi repeated, tugging at Sano’s sleeve. “Sorry, Sano. Sorry.”

“’Sokay,” said Sano under his breath.

“Hey, look at me, Sano,” Megumi clutched his wrist.

            “No, I won’t.”

            “Why not?”

“’Causeyou’retoodamnbeautifultolookatandIdon’twanttomeltunderthatstupidlittleprettysmileandeyesofyours.”

“Didn’t catch that, Sano,” Megumi raised her brow.

Sano sighed and turned to look at Megumi, So beautiful . . . Dammit. Wish she’s mine, “I’m not mad, Megumi, okay?”

            “Really?”

“Uh huh. Now, what were you saying?”

“I want to go to the game house. Bring me there, please please please please please!” Megumi chirped.

“No. The place’s almost always full of bastards,” said Sano defiantly, scratching his head.

            “Sano—”

            “No.”

            “Please.”

“Why do you wanna go to the game house so bad?”

“I wanna see you play,” Megumi mopped.

“But it’s not that fun and you’ll just get bo—”

            “Sano, please.”

Sanosuke shook his head at her.

“Ugh! Fine! Then just bring me home then,” Megumi flipped her hair angrily and turned away from Sanosuke, nose high in the air.

Sanosuke huffed and rolled his eyes. She’s so stubborn. “But it’s too early. Don’t you want to spend the afternoon with me?”

Megumi turned her back to him.

Sano raised his hands in surrender and said, “All right, all right.”

Megumi slowly turned towards Sanosuke, her face splitting in an ear-to-ear grin, “Really?”

Sano nodded, “Yeah. But don’t push it too much, okay? Once we’re there, you’re not allowed to leave my side. Get it, Meg?”
