Clarke Pov

I was forced into a car half asleep as my stomach growled, Derek drove as I complain until he stopped at the cafe and got me breakfast. We ate then went to the beach, did I mention its 6:49am?! Derek is lucky I didn't go full out ninja on his ass for waking me up. I pull my shirt off an take my shorts off as well as Derek pulls his shirt off an I shriek when he throws me over his shoulder and runs into the freezing ocean.

"Call the whale rescue team" I yell as Derek drops me into the water, I glare at him as he rolls his eyes "come here, idiot" He says gently taking my arms and pulling me further out, my feet didnt even reach the ocean floor, my legs probably look like their having a fit or something, it took what felt like hours before I managed to be by myself without Derek helping.

"Clarke, come on I gotta get you home" Derek says amused as I swim away from him "if you don't come here, it means you hate me" He adds making me stop instantly and turn around, he smiles smugly when I wrap myself around him and kiss his cheek before we got out of the water and left, he drops me off at my house and said he'll be back later.

I ran into Bethany's room an jumped on her bed, she groans an swears at me "I learnt how to swim" I said smugly as I collapse beside her "good for you now let me sleep" She grumbles shoving her face into the pillow "fine then" I huff standing up and going to the kitchen, I made a sandwich and scoff it.

I hear someone knock an skip to the door, I open it to see Derek "you look rather perky" He says amused as I let him in and shut the door. I pull him into the living room an we sat on the couch "ok so random question, why haven't I seen you shift before?" He asks with furrowed brows, I felt myself tense as my mouth went dry "I can't shift, its kinda like a family curse" I said awkwardly.

"Curse?" He asks curiously "I can only shift once I find my mate, my Grandma said the curse is broken with a kiss and I know how Disney princess that sounds but I found out she lied, I have to get marked by my mate before I can turn" I said grumpily, he looked surprised "how do you know who your mate is?" He asks clearing his throat "I gotta figure that out in time now if you don't mind, I would like to spend time with my boyfriend without talking about that crap" I mutter bitterly, he smirks and kissed my cheek.

Derek wraps me in his arms and pulls me onto his lap "ok so what's up with you, I know something's wrong" I said softly as I rub his chest "rouges have been attacking a lot of packs lately, a few kids have been taken, all female and now a girl from my pack has been taken, 8 year old Telia Wentworth, I had to deal with her devastated Mother demanding I start war" He says sighing frustratingly.

"I'm guessing you want a distraction" I said knowingly, I squeal when he pins me down on the couch and roughly kissed me, I cradle his waist as we move in sync....
