Today is my first day at Notre Dame High School as a junior. My sister has all the same classes as me, except Driver's Ed, because the kid is only thirteen. Our brother, Jake is a senior and is trying to not get suspended this year. We have most of our classes with my best friend, Michaela and my boyfriend. My boyfriend asked me out in June, 2011, before I left for camp. Well actually, he didn't know sign language, so Michaela had to ask me out for him. He spent the next four weeks learning sign language at Michaela's house just to talk to me. Hopefully, today that will change. I have an appointment with Dr. Jackie, my audiologist. I don't want to tell Jay I'm getting cochlear implants until I hear it from Dr. Jackie. Michaela knows about it, but she is not allowed to tell him until it's official. I'm so excited. Madi, Jake and Michaela are coming with me to my appointment. At lunch, I ask Michaela if I should ask Jay to come with us to my audiologist appointment. She turns to him and says, "Austyn has a question to ask you." She says. Jay says,"Yes, darling?" I reply, "Do you want to come with Jake, Madi and I to my audiologist appointment?" He answers, "Yes, I would love to." The bell rings to go back to class, Jay takes my hand and we walk back to class with Michaela, Madi and Jake. When I get to class, Jay gives me a quick peck on the cheek. After school, we all meet at Jake's car, hop in and head to Dr. Jackie's office.
