"Ross!" Ratliff calls as he comes into the room.
Ross looks up at him. "What are you doing here all alone? You're supposed to be getting ready in the green room with the rest of us."
Ross looks back down at his phone. He was basically stalking Laura's twitter. "She's coming."
Ratliff sighs and sits next to him. "Dude, are you scared? Is she making you scared?" Ratliff mocks and pushes him.
Ross laughs. "No, i'm not scared. I just don't know how i'm going to talk to her afterwards."
Ratliff pats his shoulder. "You'll think of something. We'll call her and Calum backstage and get you and her alone. You make your move."
"Thanks." Ross says as they get up to go to the green room.
. . .
"Okay, one more when they're performing." Calum says. "We need to get Ross in the back. That would be soo cool."
Laura smiles only hanging on to one word Calum said. 'Ross.' "Oh, definitely!"
Laura couldn't believe she actually agreed to do this. How was she going to talk to Ross? How was she going to hang out with him later?
Just then, Laura gets a text from Brandon: ready to hang out later?
Crap. Why did this keep happening?
"What's wrong?" Calum asks her.
Laura falls back in her seat, looking down at the stage. "I forgot i agreed to hang out with Brandon. Again."
"Ooohh. Not good. You need to solve this."
"I know." Laura groans. "I really want to hang with Ross, but i don't want to blow Brandon off again."
"Make a choice. Ross or Brandon?" Calum says.
Then, R5 makes their way on to the stage. Laura gets up and sees Ross look over to her direction. "Calum! Did you tell Ross where we are sitting!?"
"Yeah, who cares?" He replies.
"I do!" She yells.
"Calm down," Calum tells her. "It's going to be fine."
For Laura, things did not go 'fine'. When Ross was singing she noticed that he kept pointing to her. The problem was that it felt like he was singing to her. That made her feel super special and good inside. Wait, was she starting to get emotional?
"Okay, i love everybody on the balcony. I want you." Ross says during a break. Then, he laughs. "No, i'm just kidding. I'm joking." He says.
Laura felt like she was going to die. His voice. She hasn't heard his voice in forever. She was smiling through the whole show. Such a fun time.
. . .
Finally, the show was over. Calum, and Laura were called behind stage. "Make the decision, Laura. Make the right decision."
The members of R5 were busy packing up their equipment. Laura stood there, awkwardly with Calum. She elbowed him in the side to make him say something. "Heyyy!" Calum exclaims.
Everyone looks to them. "Calum! Laura!" They all say except for Ross who was looking at Laura. She didn't make eye contact with him.
Rydel runs over and hugs both of them, causing everyone to start hugging. Ross hugs Calum and then goes over to Laura. He doesn't hug her, though.
"Uhh, Calum! Want to see the stage? It looks so awesome! Guys, let's show Calum the stage!" Ratliff says.
R5 and Calum leave. Ross and Laura don't look at each other for a while. Laura looks at him because she knew, she was the reason for all of this. "Ross," she says.
He doesn't look at her or say anything but, he was listening. "I'm sorry that i started to ignore you and stop talking to you. I really don't know why. But, i'm really stupid to think that, that was okay. It wasn't okay. I'm really, really sorry that i did that."
After a couple of seconds, Ross finally looks at her. "Why? I know that you know why."
Laura bites her lip. She did not want to be the first one to confess their feelings. She wanted to know Ross liked her before she goes into extremes. "I was being so mean to Brandon, so i decided i should hang out with him more."
"Last time i checked, you are kinda being mean to me." Ross says. "But, wanting to hang out with someone more doesn't mean you try and forget one of your closest friends."
"And didn't try to forget you! I tried to forget my feelings for you!" Laura shouts and then clamps her hand over her mouth. Shoot, way to confess your feelings first, Laura.
Ross just stands there, shocked. "Y-you have feelings for me?"
Laura looks around, nervously. "Um, sorry that just slipped out. Sometimes i say things that i don't really mean. You know, that i do that."
"You don't." Ross says. "Why would you try to ignore your feelings for me?"
"Ross, i don't have any feelings for you. That just slipped." Laura lies.
"You are lying." He says, sternly.
"Whatever, Ross. Who cares, anyways?" Laura says, looking away.
"I do." Ross says.
Laura looks at him. "What? Why?"
"Why do you think, Laura?" Ross asks her. When she doesn't reply, Ross looks away. "Nevermind."
They stand there, awkwardly for a couple of minutes. "What are you doing later?" Laura asks Ross.
"I don't think we are going to do anything. Maybe go back home." He replies.
Laura nods and looks down.
"What are you doing after?" Ross asks her after a couple of seconds.
She looks up at him. She was going to say that she was going to hang out with Brandon, but no, not after she just made up with Ross. She didn't want to turn him down again. She needed to make up with him. "Oh, i'm not doing anything."
Ross nods and looks away.
"Soo, since we're not really doing anything, and i have been a pretty big jerk, lately, how about we hang out just you and me?" Laura says, nudging him with her hand and starting to smile.
