"Dang it!!" Ross yells picking up his phone from the puddle he had dropped it in.
Ryland looks over his shoulder. "Not good, dude."
"I know!" Ross yells. Trying to turn his phone back on. "Ugh! Great! Finally when Laura tells me that she likes me, i don't even get the chance to reply! I bet she feels terrible." Ross says, remembering her text and locking it in his memory.
Rocky, Rydel, Ratliff, Riker, and his parents catch up to him. "I knew we should have taken a taxi to go to the dinner." Rocky says.
"Rocky, we wouldn't have fit in one taxi. It is too expensive to take three cabs to a place we could just walk to." Riker says.
"Ross' phone is going to be expensive too. What now?" Rocky tells him.
"Oh my god, Ross. What did i tell you about walking and texting? Who was it that you just couldn't wait for?" Stormie asks him.
"Laura," Ross replies. "And she just told me that she likes me. I need to tell her."
"You still haven't told her yet?" Rydel asks him.
"That isn't important! I don't want her to feel rejected and start to move on. I need to go see her." Ross says.
"But, the dinner! We're going to be talking to a guy who is huge in the music buisness!" Riker says.
"I don't care. I need to tell Laura." Ross says.
Ratliff speaks up. "If you go, i'll go with you."
Rydel looks at them. "I will too."
Ross looks at his mom and dad. "Please?"
"Ross, the plane ride is expensive. And you won't get in to L.A. Until close to tomorrow night." Mark says.
"I'm sorry, Ross." Stormie says.
. . .
The next day, close to 7 or so, Laura slips into her flimsy yellow dress with no straps and pretty lace design patterns.
