What are you waiting for? Move! My words were full of venom. I flinched, and my eyes trailed down to my shoes. The once white laces were now dirty, and untied. And the black shoe itself was now faded.

It wasn't just my shoes that were old. All of my clothes were. I always bought my clothes from the markets because I thought it was a waste of money. Really, the only "new" clothes I had, was bought from my grandparents, or occasionally my mother.

In the mist of my thoughts, I managed to catch a glimpse of Alex. His eyes locked with mine for a moment. And I could see in his burning-blue orbs, that he looked at me like I was prey. I didn't need the okay to run. I whiped around, and took a step. Before I could take another, Alex had wrapped his hand around my arm. I was in a locked in his hold. I wriggled under his grip, twisting and turning. It had come to the point of struggle, of clawing at his arm, which had pressed against my neck.

"Let me go!" I growled, taking a step forward. Where I tried to go, Alex followed. I felt hot breath on my neck, which caused goosebumps. I stop struggling long enough for him to lean down and whisper, "I swear to god, if you ever try to push or shove me one more time, I will hurt you." my jaw dropped, and my nostrils flared. I huffed, and his grip loosend.

Get out of here! I felt his eyes on my back. "I always new you were a monster." I whisper, before proceeding down the hallway, not looking back.

*Later at night

"Hey, lets get out tonight." Hannah chirped on the other line. I rolled my eyes.

"Can't. It's a school night remember?" I say, taking a apple from the basket, retreating over to the couch.

"Oh come on." she groans. I can tell from her tone, her eyebrows are lifted. Hannah does this when she's annoyed. I couldn't blame her, I'm not that outgoing.

"I just have a lot on my mind." it wasn't a lie, but it wasn't partially true either. I really didn't mind going out on school nights. It's just whenever Hannah and I hang out, she always gets really demanding. Oh, I wanted the chocoalte syrup. Um, I wanted to watch the other movie.

"I need to study. We can go out on Friday. Promise." I say, taking a bite from the apple. I lean back onto the couch, and bring my legs to my chest; a comfy position.

"What's wrong? Is it a guy? Oh my god! You like someone don't you?" Hannah continued to cheerfully blab on about who I could like. I made no move to stop her. Instead I tuned her out with the television.
