Part Five

- Two Days Later -

     Needless to say, we didn't get the wand and had to actually go to school the next day. I think Mal was changing. The others were, too, and Ben was having an effect on her. That's when Mal told us that she didn't really want to be evil, but she thought that we wanted to do it.

     "I'm...sorry for how I've treated you, Uriana. I was jealous of how your mom treated you. I think we all were," Mal said, conviction in her eyes.

     "Mal, it's okay. Guys, our parents can't make us do anything anymore. We can be happy here. Mal can be with Ben, Evie can be with Doug, Carlos can have Duke as a pet!" We all laughed and Evie wiped tears from her eyes. Jay stared down at me with something undetectable on his face. 

     "Guys, we have a class soon. Shall we...get going?" Evie said, clearing her throat. I grabbed a gray potion from my box and swallowed it. A cloudy light covered me and disappeared a second later, leaving me in a new outfit: a long sleeve black leather studded top, black leather backpack, purple and black leggings, and black studded boots. Blue and purple streaked my hair.

     I pulled my long waves over my shoulder and followed my friends from the room.

     "Hey, Uriana, wait up," a voice said as we entered the hallways. I turned to see a boy around my age jogging toward me.

     "Um, hi. How do you know my name?" I asked the boy with jet black hair and bright blue eyes. I noticed Jay looking at us, then storming off to class.

     "It's kinda hard not to," he chuckled. "You don't know who I am, do you?"

     "Sorry, no. I think you're in my chemistry class, right?"

     "I'm, uh, the son of Ariel and Prince Eric. Your mom kind of tried to destroy my parents' relationship," he laughed.

     "I'm... I'm so sorry. My mom isn't here to apologize for her actions, but I am." I smiled sweetly and squeezed his shoulder.

     "Oh, wow. Thanks. It...means a lot."

     "I have to go. I'll see you in class... What's your name again?"

     "I'm Evan. Catch you later."
